I'm trying to lose poundage - 10 lbs at least. I haven't weight myself as I don't have a scale but I'm guessing I was around 128 five days ago, when I started!

Goals: 10 lbs by Jan. 15

What I will do differently: no wine, 1,200 cals a day *sniffle*, food diary

Problems I expect to have: Basically these revolve around my skinny boyfriend who loves to cook pastries! and make ice cream! This is awesome expect for weight loss. He doesn't like the whole calorie-counting aspect, but I try to reassure him that I am eating enough and that I NEED to count calories, or else I won't lose weight. Simply eating until I'm full doesn't work for me because I am always hungry!

If I reach this goal, I might try to approach one of the modeling agencies in Paris and get back into it. I had an agency willing to represent me in the States, but then I lost my job, crashed my car, and decided to go to grad school...lord knows an unpaid intern could use the money. ANYWAY! Wish me luck!

everything in moderation, including wine (red), chocolate (dark), and exercise (lots!). don't deprive yourself of goodies you love....unless you want to actually cut them out to make you happier. but if the thought of not having pastries or ice cream makes you upset, have them once a month! or once a week, instead of every day? good luck! i'm in the same boat!
  • I think I am 132 currently and I would LOVE to get down to 120. I have a crazy amount of muscle... so I'm hoping its possible to get down to 120. I think its so inspiring to see how much of a difference around 10 pouds can make. i'm only 5'1 and i carry all of my weight in my bubble butt and thighs... i have a toned stomach and arms... its just the freaking legs! haha! So basically... I am really watching my calories and seeing how much of a difference that can make....

good luck to everyone! we can do this :) gotta get through the holidays!! yikes! :)

oh also.. im shocked by the fact that i had an apple and a yogurt with breakfast today and im already like 10 over on my recommended sugars for the day. what do y'all think about that? they are healthy sugars... but i just find it crazy that i'm already over!

I am hopeful to lose 10-15 lbs. I have been kind of stuck around 140 since June and I have not dropped below. I am guessing I have not based on what I look like in the mirror but I actually threw my scale away and will not weigh again until 1.3.12 which will mark 1 yr. on MFP and trying to lose weight. I need to break through this but since I am at a healthy weight that my body is comfortable with, I need to do SOMETHING drop more. I have too much fat in a lot of areas. I am 5' 5.5" tall. I ideally would love to see myself @ 125 but I would settle for 130 if I drop my body fat % drastically.
  • Yeah, ladies! I can relate to a lot of what all of you are saying (especially having a lot of muscle Jensenstarr).

I read that our bodies have a natural weight that they fight to keep (see this article http://www.nytimes.com/1995/03/09/us/metabolism-found-to-adjust-for-a-body-s-natural-weight.html?pagewanted=all&src=pm); mine seemed to be about where I'm at now 125ish, give or take.

Unless I restrict my calories, like I am currently doing, I won't see any change. The lowest I've been has been 116, but I was definitely not eating enough (not by choice! - I didn't have enough money for groceries and lived off oatmeal, popcorn, and leftovers from work one summer during college). That sort of diet is not desirable or healthy, though. I'd like to see myself get to that weight again through healthier and more sustainable means.
