I thought a good topic would be a section where we could share info on what we know curbs or stops any type of cravings. I have 2 for now that I just found out about
Cinnamon is good for stopping sugar cravings and dairy products are good for making you fill fuller. Of course you still need to watch the calories on the dairy but its still an option if you can add it to your meals to help you thru the day.

I have one that stops craving without any calories. In the evening when I feel like snacking, I get on my MFP friends list and spend time visiting each of my friends and dropping a note to some who havn't logged in in 3 days and send some Encouragement to others I don't talk with regularly. Before I know it it's getting on towards bedtime and I've gotten through the evening without snacking :happy:0

Oh Yeah, Speaking of cinnamon I munch on Dentyne Fire sugarless gum. 5 calories for 2 pieces.0

Spicy Foods. If you eat spicy foods-- you will eat less. I really noticed it when I made Turkey Chili and added extra pepper flakes and chili powder. I absolutely ate less. So.. not a real answer to killing a specific craving.. but, WILL help you during mealtimes.
Maybe a good snack is those Wasabi Peas? (Personally, not my favorite.. but, you get the point). Looking forward to hearing from others.
ALso, when I just feel like munching.. not because I am hungry.. have been eating air popped popcorn. Its not really that good.. but, I am not eating because I am hungry.. am eating for alternate reasons. (tired, sad, bored.. etc)0 -
Great suggestions everyone! The more options we have the better our success will be!0

Cravings are tough. I try not to have my triggers in the house. After a week or so of healthy eating it subsides for me. I hang out on facebook or here. I don't snack when I'm on the computer. Never understood that stereotype.0

Good idea!!! Evening is a trouble spot for me. I'm going to try your method from now on. Maybe require myself to drink a lot of water at the same time.0 -

You just solved my problem for dinner tonight. I'm meeting friends at an Ethiopian restaurant --- where there are no forks or spoons --- and everyone eats by ripping off a piece of bread and dipping it into a common plate of food. I have been stressing over eating so many mouthfuls of bread when bread is on my no-no red flag list. I'm going to do as you suggest. I'll just dip into the really spicy hot foods. Then drink a lot of water. Thanks!!!0 -
I find that foods with lots of protein keep me full the longest, as do foods with lots of fiber.
So, I snack on sliced turkey quite often, along with "surimi" (fake crab meat). Also, every now and then you can find pork loin on sale, and when I do, I buy a few (bought two last night). As I live alone, one of 'em lasts me two or 3 days. They are easy to prepare - just pop 'em in the oven for 30-40 mins - they are very low in fat, and they taste great. They also keep you full for quite a while.
When I cook one for dinner, I slice up the leftovers and keep 'em in the fridge for snacks.0 -
I started adding cinnamon to my coffee & try to eat more protein & fiber & definitely more water0
