Just done my first MAX workout....

When I started Insanity last week, I admit that I was a bit disappointed. In the last six months I've done a lot of running, spinning and I also finished a round of P90X. But after all the hype, I was a little disappointed in the Insanity workouts. They were tough, I suppose, but I wanted to feel like I did when I was 235 lbs and I first tried Plyo X. I wanted THAT feeling.

So this week, I decided to jump straight to the MAX workouts. After all, an extra circuit would probably be exactly what I needed....

BUT WOW.... No-one said that the individual moves get tougher, too!

THAT was exactly what I needed!! Pausing in the middle of circuits - Check! Taking cheeky breathers here and there - Check! Gasping for air like a fish out of water - check!. Just.... wow.

My average heart rate was 82% of my max and my highest heart rate was 93% of my max!

So I take it all back... The MAX workouts are just fantastic and EXACTLY what I was after!

And from what I have read online, the next one (MAX Interval Plyo) is the hardest of the lot.

Max workouts definitely live up to the Insanity name. :) Glad you liked the Max workout.

May Plyo should be called Max Plyo Push-up! That is all I will say about it.

I've finished two rounds of Insanity and am currently doing Asylum. I'm really pleased with this program and like it better than Month 2 of Insanity. I also run and train for races while doing Asylum and it's been easier to incorporate both with Asylum.

After my first Max workout, I had to head straight to the bath tub and soak! It was so hard but I was able to finish the program a couple weeks ago! I feel like there's nothing that I can't do now!
