I Will do this. I will then be at my mini target weight of 10 stone 7lbs. I so want to do it and need you all to keep me on the right track. Starting nightshift tonight then on holiday for a week then back on nightshift. No excuses for not exercising. No excuses for being over my calories more than once a week. Got a hen do and a trip to the festive market in Edinburgh but otherwise nothing else planned. Really want to reach my target and i'm so looking forward to Christmas . I'll be so proud of myself if i can do it. Anyone else with similar targets?

I really wanted to be out of obese and into overweight by Christmas, but my scales are stuck just now and that won't happen. Would be delighted with 4lbs - at least the scales would be moving again!

I want to be wearing the trousers my mother bought me for christmas last year but my *kitten* was too big for me to fit in to them properly. I doubt I'll lose as much as you, but a couple of lbs off would be most welcome. You can do it!

We can do it folks. We have almost 4 weeks to do it in. Just gotta keep working towards it and stay positive. Fingers crossed the trousers will fit this year Missdaisy :) Anne you can do it. Maybe just need to change things up a little. Good luck anyhow xxx

I'm hoping to lose 4lbs too. Really going to have to try hard though. If I succeed then it will mean I'll only have 5lbs to go before I reach my goal!

I have about 3lbs to lose to reach my Xmas 2011 goal weight of 15st (95kg)

It should be doable as I'm currently losing 1lb a week, but having just come back from a weekend in Madrid and then the Xmas parties start next Wednesday... it's gonna be a challenge to keep up the loss and not just stick at current weight :noway:

I have set myself a target of just over 10 lbs in December. Hoping to reach it the week leading up to Christmas and perhaps maintain through Christmas (hopefully)! It will be tough to hit this target anything is possible :)

Sticking at the current weight would be better than putting on, don't you think?
  • Yep I'm aiming for 4lbs off by Christmas too, that would see me at 12stone, my next SV. :D

Don't think of the christmas parties as a defeat waiting to happen or it'll turn into a self fulfilling prophecy. If you've a party coming up, burn more calories by doing an extra 20mins workout to counter it. Plan in advance so you've got calories you can utilise. Drink a glass of water with the meal and in between each glass of whatever your tipple is.

There are loads of ways to combat the dreaded 'eat till you can eat mo more' season. We can do it gang! :D

Oh, I entirely agree  ... I'm just greedy... now I've tasted the sweet elixir of success :drinker:

As I've just told someone else in another thread...

... you'll never succeed if you don't enjoy yourself and as long as you're exercising regularly you'll soon work off a few excesses here and there.

This time of year is not for the faint-hearted and if you want to enjoy yourself, that means you'll go over here and there and might have to do 10-30mins extra exercise to compensate.

Christmas comes but once a year ... and yes we do over indulge... but that's the point: be good to yourself!

And you can be good and enjoy all the tempting delights on offer... as long as you don't binge and make yourself sick stuffing your face.

Have a mince pie.... savour every last morsel and you might find that one (or even ½!) is enough.

I'm in - if I lose 4lb I will be at the weight that MFP already thinks I am! (Don't record gains - too depressing!)
Got a weekend away next week, but think I can still do it!

How's everyone doing? I lost 2lb last week so onnly 2 lb to go. Off the booze from 24th nov to 24th dec too so hoping that will help. Been busy decorating the house the last 2 weeks so food choices haven't been great but must have burned more than i logged with all the decorating and cleaning. Hoping to get the Christmas tree up tomorrow night. Yay!! Hope everyone is doing well. We can do this!!!!

I'll be honest, I have no idea if I've lost or gained recently. I haven't weighed myself since 30th October - I don't have a weighing scales at home, and the next time I weigh will be at the doctor's surgery. I feel like I'm doing well, still keeping my eye on the goal of those trousers for christmas day!

You can do it Nic, definitely. I'm confident. 1lb a week is achievable for sure!

I have stayed the same this week which i'm happy with as haven't made great food or exercise choices this week. It's been a bit of a stressful couple of weeks for me as we have been in the middle of decorating and my sister hasn't been well and has been back and forth to the hospital so been really worried about her. Thankfully she is doing better now and just has to wait for dates to get tests done. On the plus side though the decorating is done and the Christmas tree is up. We are off for a day out to Edinburgh Christmas market tomorrow and i'm running the 5k santa dash on behalf of my sister on Sunday. Also going to a good friends hen/30th birthday gathering tonight but i'm going to be good and not drink or eat anything too bad as planning on eating what i want on Saturday. Another plus is that the house didn't get blown away or damaged in the horrendous weather we had yesterday. Next week i plan to recommence my sit ups and try and get some treadmill power walking in. How are you all doing? Hope everyone is on track to their goals. 16 Sleeps!!!

Well, I've got my weigh in at the doctor's on the 21st, and she'll decide if my blood pressure and weight is satisfactory enough to keep prescribing me my birth control...so hopefully I'll have good news then! I don't like to weigh myself all the time, I like to be surprised by big jumps in weight!

Lost 4.4 this week, which surprised me because of the Season's festivities.

Goal weight on December 31st: 257

    12/01: 267.4
    12/05: 265.2
    12/12: 260.8

How is everybody else getting on?

Well i pigged out big time over the weekend and weighed in on Sunday to find i have gained a pound :( My own fault. So now i have 3lb to lose by December 23rd. I'm planning on being under my calorie goal everyday until then and i'm back doing 6 mins of sit ups a day. Will try and get some more exercise in but not going to beat myself up if i don't as i'm on nightshift the next 2 weeks. So it's healthy planned meals for me and lots and lots of water, How is everyone else doing?

I suspect poorly. There has been cake and chocolate in the office the last week or two, and my willpower dwindled badly yesterday! It was tasty cake though. :embarassed:

Well done Anne. That's great news. I'm on nightshift just now so won't be able to weigh in until Saturday morning. Been drinking lots of water and really hoping for a loss. Would so love to reach my mini target by Christmas. Keep up the good work folks :)

Well my 4lbs before Christmas does NOT seem to be happening! I've lost 1lb since I posted in here and now seem to be stuck at 147lbs.

I did it!!!! Weighed in on Friday hoping to have lost a pound and had lost 2!!! So pleased :D I'm going to continue being good until 23rd then i'm going to have around 10 days off the diet to eat and drink what i want over Christmas and New Year then get right back on it. Hope to reach 10 stone before mid March. Think thats a reasonable goal as will no doubt put on a little over Christmas and also again in Feb as will have another week off the diet then when we are away for hubbys 30th. Hope you are all doing well. I struggled a bit with all the lovely food going around and with folks saying you shouldn't be dieting over Christmas but i just stayed focused and kept thinking how good it would feel to have reached my target for Christmas. This will be my lightest Christmas in around 7 years!!! Yay!!!

Hannydee, I seriously upped my water intake the last week and a bit and i really think that has helped. You still have time to lose more. Good luck x
