Yeah, I plan to enjoy but not over indulge. If I deny myself I tend to binge... so I will allow myself a few treats.

The deal I make myself for the holidays, is I only stress myself on exercising the calories I had for desert. haha

I'm going to keep my portions small, enjoy a few of the foods I really like and limit the holiday eating to just one day.

I have 2 days where I'll be a little lenient on myself, but that's it. This Saturday is a friend's Christmas party and I'll eat really well during the day, and enjoy myself during the party but I wont go overboard. No seconds basically.

Christmas I'll just take the day off. Lunch at one set of parents' home, then dinner at the other? Diet isn't gonna happen. No seconds, but I won't freak out over going over a bit.
  • The same way I have been doing it all along: moderation, portion sizes, better choices.

At my parents' place on Christmas Day, the dining table will be laden with treats and snacks all afternoon, but one of my aunts always brings a veggie tray and a fruit tray. I will load up on those and steer clear of the chips, chocolates and salty nuts as much as I can. At supper, I will probably eat off a kid-size plate, starting with salad, then go back for a little bit of everything else.

As for all the days in between, I make sure to leave enough calories in my day to have the occasional chocolate (my husband always goes overboard buying the ones that usually only come out at Christmas!).

This past weekend, I had 2 parties: the first one, our staff party, was hell because it wasn't an actual sit-down meal: it was a table full of hors d'oeuvres. Really???? So it was hard to make smart choices because there really weren't any. I didn't even bother logging my calories because it would have been impossible to figure it out. The next night, it was a sit-down turkey-and-all-the-trimmings supper, so there, I was able to pick the better choices and did pretty good.

I plan to continue to work out atleast 3 times a week and I will stay on target with my calorie count on days that I'm not out with the family. I want to splurge a bit but figured if I maintain my calorie count on all the other days, I should be just fine. Good thing is I won't bring home any left overs. Bad thing is since I make the pork tamales, I will have plenty of those at home...maybe I should send those as gifts too.

Working out, and only rarely induging in treats. This past Saturday was my birthday, and I really wanted some treats, so I had two petit fours, and four mini cupcakes. Only the petit fours rocked my world, so that's what I will have on Xmas Eve. It helped that my bday fell on a Saturday, which is my weigh-in day. Figure if I splurge after weighing-in, I have almost a full week to work off whatever damage I did :) On my bday I worked out in the morning and in the evening, and still ended up with about a 730 calorie deficit that day.

Thankfully, I'm only going to be home at my parents on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day then traveling back to my home the day after Christmas, so those will be the only hard days. I plan to enjoy myself for those two days, without going completely overboard, but I'll probably enjoy a cookie or two  And on Christmas day we always have prime rib and steak fries, so I will DEFINITELY be enjoying those, I miss french fries more than anything!! And on New Year's Eve, I'm sure I'll be drinking... but other than those days, just staying on track and going to try to get some extra workouts in to make up for the others!

Portion control and making healthy choices... so that means skipping out on the fudge, which is my weakness during the holidays.

i plan to force myself to think about my jiggly butt and fat tummy and the regret i will inevitably feel! i'm sure it won't stop me completely but maybe just maybe it will prevent me from eating 10 cookies instead of 1
