For those of you up for the daily challenge!

Feel free to share your accomplishments doing the daily challenges (Read the challenge thread).

I'll start off with my biggest accomplishment so far. On Thursday, my friend turned 21. So of course we went out. My challenge was to make sure I only drank vodka with diet soda (max of 3) and also avoid fast food (my friends love grabbing fast food after a night at the bar).
So the night went really well, I only had roughly 2 vodka diet drinks. And at the end of the night, the group of friends wanted to go to McDonalds. Driving with them, I couldn't avoid the situation... and here my stomach started rumbling at the idea of food.. but its now 2am and I know its not a good idea to eat so late, and I remembered my challenge of not to eat fast food... so at the ordering screen, my friends ordered, and my best friend tried ordering me a yogurt parfait (which is usually what i get at McD's. I know its not really that unhealthy, would have been a good option if I decided to eat) But I told him no thank you. By no fast food i meant NO fast food at all, no matter how "healthy" it is. The roughest part was sitting in the car while everyone ate and me just drinking water. But I was proud of myself the next day for resisting the temptation especially under peer pressure!

Yesterday was my first day of success with my mini goals. I feel great about it--I ate what I call "clean" and I ate the correct amount of calories. Today I set the same goal--eat my caloric intake and eat clean (no processed foods or sugar). I hope to do this daily for a month.

First off, Congrats on your successes!

So far, I've had two "stick to the plan" days. My plan was to pack lunches for the first part of my school day (on these given days, it's 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM) and not to buy ANYTHING except for water in that time period. Then, at 5:30, have a little snack with my mom, and eat dinner according to the calories I had left (which was normally planned to be anything from 400-700 calories.)

On a regular day, I would TRY to plan lunches, but I would wake up late and end up slapping together something that I either would not keep me full at all, or was not at all healthy. Then, during lunch, I'd be hungry and buy something god-awful at the cafeteria, like a cup of noodles or a bag of chips.

On the first day I set this as my GOAL, I remember waking up to my alarm clock and thinking of hitting snooze, but I knew that if I did, I couldn't pack a good lunch, and I wouldn't accomplish my goal, so I reluctantly woke up and shuffled into the kitchen to make my lunch and snack. The rest of the day went AMAZING. I ate my apple and sandwich for lunch just before my cardio class, and when my mid-day hunger set in, I had a cup of grapes waiting for me! No horrible, unhealthy purchases, and the time I saved from NOT waiting in a crazy line in a college cafeteria, I used to prolong my workout to burn even more calories! I felt great, great, great!

(Easily the longest forum post I've ever written :P)

great accomplishments so far! Hope we can hear more from other users especially when we officially start the challenge in December.

I had a great accomplishment for the week in total. I did not buy any fast food at all, and I stayed close to my daily calorie goals all week. Which helped me lose 1lb this week yay!

In addition to the daily challenges that everyone creates on their own, I want to make a weekly challenge for everyone to try and follow together. For example, one week may be no soda at all (including diet soda!) another week may be no fast food etc etc.

I will probably post up the December challenge thread this week to give people a heads up on the official start.

Hey congrats on the successes posted, there is some good self control he opening here.... I like it!

I've had a couple of wins myself. I had a friend visiting from interstate and wever been known to still be sitting at the same bar 6 hours later drinking beer and solving all the issues in the world. I committed and save enough calories for 2 beers only, and I stuck to it. Wasn't even tempted to have extra, not after I had written the challenge down!

Then today I met a friend for lunch. When negotiating the venue, I didn't want to be too bossy, but wanted somewhere healthy. We ended up having noodle soup and water, not a chicken schnitzel and a beer! I'm double proud because it's weigh in day for me tomorrow and I think these little things will help me have a good week.

No idea how I've gone mind you, got the boyfriend to hide the battery for the scales after I noticed myself weighing everyday!!!

Just had to share this great news.

I went the entire weekend on my closing shifts without eating a single thing from my work! I packed food to last me all night... and although the temptation was there, I did great! I've gone 5 days in a row without eating the food, this is the longest amount of time I've gone without eating there since I usually eat it during my break each night. Hoping I can last the rest of the month like this!
  • Congratulations Janean! It's really really tough to behave when the temptation is in your face, complete with smell, all night! Now you've proven its possible, so I know you can keep it up!
