Visiting Relatives

What do you do when you have family in from out of town and everyone wants to have a party?

We are invited to several sit down dinners over the next week and it hurts feelings when you offer to take something. :-/ Last night I had almost everything served (not dessert), but just ate a little bit...... (?)

Any suggestions?

I suppose you are doing what you should. Just eating what you are comfortable with. It's definitely more difficult during the holidays if there are a lot of gatherings. Good Luck!

I can totally relate! I have a HUGE Italian family and food is the center! My rule is that if I'm going to a relatives house, I will exercise that day and enjoy whatever is served! I definately try not to go overboard, because then I feel like crap. Small portions are the way to go! I also make an effort to drink alot of water too. It makes you feel full and helps flush out everything!

This way you get a taste without being deprived. No one wants to be deprived on the holidays!
