I see a few friends use these. Any in particular you'd recommend and for which platform?

97% of my exercise in the past week has been on Wii Fit Plus. I'm going to start playing biggest loser on there once I get my stamina up a little more. Bob and Jillian are hardasses. haha
I used to play Dance Central on Xbox Kinect too. That was intense.0 -
YES!!! XBOX Kinnect is AWESOME! I play biggest loser and dance central. I love on biggest loser if you are not doing something right it totally calls you out and tells you how to fix it. They have challenges and weekly weight ins ect. I love it.0

Xbox Kinect is far far better than the Wii - the wii fit was good for its time but Kinect blows it away now and with recent price drops there is no reason to get a Wii over a kinect if you have to buy all the stuff from scratch anyway.
Dance Central is an AMAZING workout - not just cardio but whole body - or at least it is when you're still out of shape and/or not used to those types of motions. It doesn't do as much in that area for me now but I used to be SORE from playing it.
The new generation of kinect games is better than the first round - from the first round the 2 best games by most ratings and reviews were dance central and kinect sports -not because the other games didn't have fun concepts but because the recognition ont hem wasn't that great. The new games are spposedly a lot better -- I'm downloading the trial of your shape fitness evolved 2012 to try otu but review s say its pretty good. (I didn't much care for the first one).0 -
Xbox Kinect is awesome. I have Kinect Adventures, which is a fun way to get exercise in and Biggest Loser which is great because it will tell you if you are doing a move wrong and the Kinect scans your body and it shows the results on the screen (which I think is amazing to have), I also put Demos on it, Dance Central and Zumba, until I can actually get them. Plus you don't have to worry about holding on to any controllers, as the commercial states "You are the controller". I break a sweat each time I play.0

We're not gamers...my parents surprised us with the Wii for the kids a couple of years ago, so we're not intending on upgrading (at least not until they are old enough to harrass us into it! lol), so I am hoping that Santa brings me Biggest Loser.0

You NEED to buy Zumba Fitness 2. Don't buy the first one, but the second one. It is AMAZING!!!
I've had it two days and have been taking my heart rate afte each song finishes. In a nutshell, I burn around 400 calories with a 40 minute workout, and that's one where I'm not too out of breath or hurting. When I really pump it up and dance until I can't keep up or my legs give way (and believe it or not, I've managed both in the two days I've had it) I can average 550 in 40 minutes.
It is brilliant! BUY IT! If you like dancing you will not regret it. If it weren't 11pm over here in the UK right now I'd go and do an hour on it! It's great fun! I think you can add other players and do dance offs too, but I'm not sure. Amazon should be able to tell you. Either way, you could challenge each other by accuracy marks (done on the system) if you wanted to play it with family and there isn't a multiplayer option.0 -
I've got a PS3 with the "Move" setup, and ZUMBA! I love it! It really gets me moving and I break a sweat. Love to dance, and especially in the privacy of my own home. I do a quick 20 minute workout, and have seen some good results.
Another game that's fun, challenging, and gets my heart rate up is the "Gladiator Duel" on the Sports Champions disc. I usually play the computer on this, although I have played with friends and family. They don't stand a chance!!! The other games on the disc are fun, but not nearly as physically challenging as this one. Love it!! Time just flies by and by the end, I feel I have really worked out!!0 -

Gladiator Duel,
first time I played i couldnt get out of bed the next day!
I was so soure (arm and back) I had to slide to the floor and then my s/o had to pick me up.
Some of those games are real work out, other (like play move dance party) were fun cardio.
Definetly worth buying if you want to work out at home.0 -
I just got Zumba for the xbox last night. Yesterday was a leg day at the gym though and my legs were so sore I could only do about 10 mins haha. Today will be zumba day though!0

Enjoy!!
Did you get the new one "Zumba Fitness 2" or the first one?
Every day's a Zumba day for me now. Such an easy, fun way to burn 500 calories or so! Gee.... I can eat a whole bag of Maltesers afterwards, but obviously don't!!!!0 -
I love zumba on the wii, it doesn't feel like its a workout at all, its so much fun! Hoping for zumba 2 for christmas!!0
