Calories v. Minutes

Hi All:

I was just wondering if you post your workouts by the number of calories burned or by minutes. I just realized last night that I could change the calories on my workouts. I know it calculates it for you but sometimes it isnt accurate. So do you just go by what MFP tells you for calories or do you enter it manually to match what the machine tells you? I am not sure if any of these sources are accurate. Otherwise I was going to bump my minutes up to get closer to my actual calories burned but I didnt want to lie about my times either. (This was before I realized you could edit it.) Thoughts?

I edit them to what the machine says.. I would guess that MFP goes by the standard and sometimes we work harder or less hard than what MFP gives us. Either way we are burning calories though! :)

I usually don't change what MFP says unless I'm changing it to what my heartrate monitor says. MFP usually says a lower calorie burn than what the machine says, so I prefer to err on the side of less calories burned
  • Unless there isn't an accurate measure for calories burned, I leave it alone. Like MFP doesnt have a classification for Zumba, so for my classes, I edit the dance classification to reflect the calories.
