Hello MFP'ers,

Im from Michigan and I am involved with Public Safety. I am a Firefighter/EMT, Dispatcher, and Officer in my city. I spend a few nights a week on the night shift and I struggle endlessly with snacking throughout the night. I have tried some healthier choices, yet feel like struggle to feel satisfied. Frankly, some times the snacking helps keep me awake.

Hopefully some of you can share some secrets or tips with me and we can call try to get healthier together. I want the end result, but struggle endlessly with willpower and discipline.

Glad to be here.

    Welcome!

I have the same problem, sucks.

Fruit helps, low sugar snacks and loads of water!
  • I'm an RN in the ER. I use to work nights. I know that sometimes I would eat to just stay awake. I've started to bring a big bag of fruit with me to work. That way I can eat away and still not mess up my diet. I also like Odwalla protein bars. They don't taste bad and they are pretty filling.
