I don't know about you all, but I do like to eat out. The problem is finding restaurants and options on the menu that are healthy and aren't salad. I have found a few but frankly, I'm getting sick of them. Cosi for instance has some interesting salads to eat but if I see one more Cosi salad . . . .

Anyone have suggestions of restaurants or tasty options on menus that they've found. I love Latin food for instance, but the refried beans. Oy.

  • I love love love Ruby Tuesday; I'm not a vegetarian, but have a tendency to lean toward vegetable dishes, and their menu is full of yummy veggies. Plus the salad bar is awesome.

If you're in NoVa, check out Sunflower in Falls Church. It's a vegetarian restaurant, so there aren't any meat dishes... but it's pretty tasty. They also have a location in Vienna, but I've never been to that one. http://www.crystalsunflower.com/FallsChurch/index.htm

Their General Tso's Surprise is fantastic.
  • If you work near Dupont Circle ... have you tried Bread and Brew or Moby **** ... both south of the circle.

I should give those a shot. There's also Maoz, which is a vegetarian sandwich joint on 19 and M.

Has anyone tried Seasons 52 in Montgomery County MD? I'm thinking of trying that one.

I may be biased, but I have to add that Potbelly's has some great offerings for low cal.
The Skinny Pair is a really good choice. All of the "Skinny" sandwiches are under 350 calories! *Includes TKY, Hammie, Lil Tuna, Mushroom Melt & Skinny Beef" and you can add a side of soup if you need something else.
But you have to be careful on toppings (although the menu lists calories on those too so you can choose wisely!)
Also, I find sodium to be a little high. There's a good nutrition calculator on the potbelly.com website too.

And at $4.00 for a sandwich and $6.60 for the Skinny Pair, it's definitely affordable!
