Hi, January it will be one year since I had surgery. I kind of fell of track. I have been eating crackers like crazy. I am hungry all the time. I can eat so much. I am afraid I stretched my pouch. Is this possible???
I am getting back on track and need some advice.
Should I start all over again and go on fluids and then soft food and so on or should I continue with regular food but of course what I am suppose to eat and size of portions.

How can you tell if you stretched your pouch? Can you get your size of pouch back to the what it was like after surgery?

Please any advice. thanks

Hi - I'm about 1 year out and I know I've stretched my pouch out some. I can have almost an entire sandwich now, when just 6 or 7 months ago I was only able to have a few bites. I'm going back to basics... protein shakes twice a day and a lean and green dinner - staying under 900 calories each day.

Have you heard of the 5 day pouch test? You don't have to buy anything... the instructions are in this link: http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html.

I hope you find this useful...

    Best wishes in 2012!

I couldn't check out the site on the address posted in your reply, however this one may be the one you suggested.

  • HI, thank you for reply. Does your pouch shrink if you do the pouch test? What happeneds if you really stretched it? thanks
