Running trails after dark

Do any of you go trail running at night?
I love hill and trail running at night with a headtorch/headlamp, my club does hill runs every week, in all weathers, all year round.

I run a flat easy trail with my head torch in preference to the road. No traffic fumes and dazzling headlights on the trail. But no, not proper hill trails0

I'll do that every now and then. I run some pretty rugged, technical trails, so I find it does slow me down a bit in some areas. But the solitude you gain from night time running can't be beat. Plus, it is the best cure for anyone with ADD/ADHD. Just a few moments with a lack in focus can easily spell disaster!
Actually, last week, I did hill repeats at night, by headlamp, on a rough mountain trail/road.0 -
I haven't yet, but it does sound fun. I'd have to find somewhere though. The park system that I normally run in closes at sunset and my luck I'd get the cops called on me from someone seeing my light bouncing thru the woods.0

Not generally... if I'm going out at night, I'm taking the mountain bike with me!0

That actually happened to me a few weeks back. It got dark about a mile into my 6 mile trail run, and just as I was coming back into the parking lot, I noticed an SUV driving back and forth on the road. It was a park employee. She stopped me and reminded me that the park closes at sunset. I just pleaded ignorant; told her it got dark on me sooner than I thought it would, and that it was very fortunate that I happened to bring my headlamp. Lol0 -
I'm in Texas, and we have several night trail races in the summer (one way to beat the summer heat!). One is Los Chupacabras (10k) which I did last year and it was super fun. Another is Cap't Karls series, which this year will be a series of 4 different races (10k to 60k) held at 4 different state parks. I'm hoping to do two of them if I can stay injury free.0
