I'm registered for the 21 miler since the full is sold out. Anyone else training for this event? It's been over a year since I ran my first marathon. I've ran 2 half marathons in the past few months, and now want to build up to a full. Let's share tips and training advice or just help keep each other motivated!

I ran Big Sur a few years ago. It is an AWESOME race. 21 miler is probably a tougher course than the marathon, as you start at mile 5 and miss out on some downhill that is protected from the wind.

Train for hills, hills and more hills and you'll do great.

Here's a link to my race report from a running site I used to post at.

Thanks for the article! Oh my, Hurripain Point is a 500 ft. climb! Worse case scenario I figure I'll just run/walk it.

Yep, running Big Sur in April. The last marathon I ran was in 2008, so it's been a few years!

You'll do great, the course is fast and flat...

HAHAHAHAHA! I've driven the course. This super-hilly course is definitely not going to be my Boston qualifier.
