Almost 76lbs to lose to reach goal

Hi guys,
I'm not new to this group but I've never introduced myself. I'm Lisa, and I am turning 27 this April. After successfully low carbing in 2002 and losing 30+ pounds, I maintained at that weight for years and lived a pretty healthy lifestyle. Then in August 2006, I joined the military. Amazingly enough, I happened to gain a good portion of weight after enlisting for 5 years. My last year in the military, I gained over 45lbs due to the stress of helping my last unit deploy, no time to workout (And not given the chance to like we're supposed to) and bad eating choices. On top of that, I got the birth control shot and gained about 15lbs in a month (NEVER taking that again). So now here I sit, at my heaviest weight this morning of 195.8lbs. To get a better sense of my weight struggles, I was at 140lbs in August 2010 and 172lbs in June 2011.
So here I am, hoping to get back to my pre army weight of 120lbs though realistically I would be happy to be anywhere from 120-130lbs. I know that I feel my best at low carb, and I also struggle to lose weight when I try to portion control. Not because I can't do it, but I just can't seem to lose weight when I eat carbs. I feel my best at low carb, and I also do lose weight at a pretty good rate at low carb and generally feel satiated. I know the next few days will be my hardest, but also I'm very motivated to lose the weight. Right now in my closet, I have size 7 jeans that used to fit me and some pairs with tags on them that I never got a chance to wear. I'm hoping this time next year (if not sooner!) to be wearing them comfortably.
What keeps me motivated is saying to myself, "I can do it today." It might not sound like much, but I've always been used to trying to reach a goal weight by some date or losing a certain amount in a small amount of time. I def like to TRY and lose 10lbs in a month but I'm just going to take it a day at a time. I know if I can focus more on today rather than where I might be three months from now, I'll have more control rather than thinking "tomorrow's another day" which has been my thinking for a long time. Even when I came out of training at 140-150lbs, I kept saying that to myself and look at where I am today: 195.8lbs. I restarted LC today.
Lisa
BTW: I don't follow any specific LC plan, but I do generally eat under 20 carbs a day.

I also do my own LC version, keep my carbs @ 20 or below to keep losing weight. I also watch my calories ( you don't have to ) but I do because I have noticed that I lose better when I keep my calories in check as well.
Good Luck on your journey. Low Carb people need to stick together! :-) so feel free to befriend me!0
