Hi, all - I know calories burned will be different for everyone, but my HRM says I burned only 57 calories doing the 30 day shred. I worked so hard I thought I was going to throw up!! What are other people seeing for calorie burn?

Replies

  • Hi Emma, my hrm said 140. I still have 60 pounds to lose if thats anything to go by? It was my first day and my first day at 'real' exercise in a long time so had to take breaks here and there - not too many though lol. Hope that helps. :D

I don't have a HRM and just log it as circuit training/general. When I do that I think it logs as 280 calories. Only a 57 calorie burn could be a real killer as far as motivation goes. But whatever it is, just remember you're strengthening everything and toning so it's worth it. But I'll stick with my 280.

I had about 200 on my HRM too. (5"9, 177) -- I have a feeling I am going to be sore tomorrow. I did it with my Valentine...I think he is going to be even more sore.

I dont have an HRM so I log mine on MFP as aerobic, general. I am 250lbs and it says I'm burning 245 calories.

I don't have an HRM, however, I log it under circuit training, general and I get 216 calories burned.

I take a few breaks to catch my breath (no longer than 10 sec) then I jump right back in.

I would be surprised to learn that all the blood, sweat and tears only amount to 57 calories!

Ditto, I log it as circuit training as well. Works out to be 249 for me

Man, I may have to switch mine to circuit training... says my calorie burn would be 50 calories more! Just kidding. I'm going to leave mine where it is cuz that means I just have to work harder!

I am confused as to why all of you put in circuit training and are getting a number of 200+. But I do the same thing, like yesterday, and I had a number of 480 for 30 min of the 30 Day Shred? Am I doing something wrong?? Help!!

Weight is a factor to how many calories you are burning. However the first thing you need to remember, this is a 20min workout, not 30 minutes. There is probably where most of that difference is coming from.

I just checked mine using Circuit Training. For 20min it would be 302 calories burned, 30 min would be 453 calories burned so yeah, thats your difference.
