Lack of hunger

Hi everyone. We just started eating primal this past Friday and I have a question. Me and my sister both have noticed a drastic change in our appetites and are no longer very hungry. I'm worried because I don't think to eat and I have to push myself to reach my calorie goal. I'm worried that I will cause my metabolism to stall from going into starvation mode. I've even stopped excerising because I'm scared I can't eat back those calories. If anyone has advice or thoughts, please let me know.

Don't worry, listen to your body, once you are used to eating this way things will settle down. Be sure you are only eating when you are physically hungry and that you stop when you are no longer hungry, once the body starts to trust you it will respond.

    Agreed. Don't fret.

Actually, you've hit a sweet spot - calorie restriction has been shown to extend one's lifespan. So - if you are eating properly (the right foods) and you aren't hungry enough to reach some arbitrary calorie goal - go with it. What we like to mistakenly call 'starvation' mode is actually 'longevity' mode.

This is pretty common and Mark Sisson even recommends intermittent fasting! You're eating foods that are much more filling and offer much more satiety than you previously were; things like rice and bread don't fill you up but provide many calories. Don't sweat it
