New to Dewars, and a bit apprehensive

Morning!
Got home around 1am when I found the invitation to this group - thank you kindly...
I am definitely a 'do-er' who believes in a no-excuses approach, but I would never consider being malicious to people either. MFP was recommended to me by my Endocrinologist as part of my care-plan. The Endo and I have collaborated on a huge collection and series of tests and found some really shocking things that I have been going undiagnosed for a number of years with regard to food allergies, sensitivities and a metabolic disorder she cant properly put a text-book name to.... so Ive become a case-study for her. Im also a case study for a Dermatologist as well ... talk about feeling like a guinea pig! LOL!!!! But, with the support and wonderful guidance of these two specialists who I have already threatened to clone them and take them home with me... Im pleased to say, my first 69lbs down since July 2011 is definitely all me....
The apprehensive part is where MFP really gives me alot of headaches over... the fact that I am medically ordered on a low-carbohydrate intake.
Im getting really sick and tired of people treating me like garbage, telling me Im so full of s***, yadda yadda yadda on the low-carb, telling me Im falling for a fad when the accuser is probably the worst offender who dives into nothing but boxed food, frozen junk meals from hell and junk-food left and right... Walk a mile in my shoes, I cant have anymore kids as Im rendered incapable now after my first child. As a healthcare professional, I advocate to my patients to keep communicating with your doctor(s) - I do the same thing... I listen to my doctor because all of them have the best interests in helping me with some pretty radical crap going on....
I help others with ****extreme hesitation**** because of the fact of the changes I had to make, I would never recommend them to others because its common sense: my doctor works with me, not with anyone here (not that I know of! LOL).... but when Im asked to look at their diary to see why they are plateauing, and you see everything except fresh foods, all take-out fast-food, well, Im going to be honest and say "looks like you consume alot of processed foods, take-out foods", but never in a malicious way.... the problem is that the reader in question, is reading a bunch of words and ASSUMING you are trying to be this unruly, nasty person.... when in fact... thats all it is.. an ASSUMPTION.... if you could hear me speak the words I type, it would definitely be coming from someone who is a genuinely nice person offering the advice THEY ASKED FOR TO BEGIN WITH!
Unfortunately I have had so many run-ins with all walks of life that I had to just get right down to truth and honesty about me and include it in my profile as a heads up to people who send friend requests: "please understand, this is me and I dont plan on changing for anyone"....
Im glad this group exists because, well... let's face it... when it comes to weight-loss... so many people have so many excuses to justify their food-related actions that, well... you have to ask yourself, when are you planning on getting rid of excuses and just doing the right thing?
For me, doing the right thing is using MFP, communicating with my doctor (who used to be my former employer - so I really do have a medical background), and only focusing on me....
So... thank you for the invite to the group. I come in peace.... and I mean you know harm.... just understand, take me as I am as one of the "Do-ers" who refuses to dive into excuses like most people tend to do.... I am a tell-it-like-it-is person, but I wont be nasty as other people have chosen to do with me...
Respectfully,
CramerNH

Sorry about your apprehensiveness. That's a lot of stuff to be going through and must be hard when you are following orders to a T to get berated for it.
Totally different topic than weight loss and in no way comparing this with your medical problems but to quit smoking I used Champix. You would not believe the amount of people not supporting that decision. Sending me links to horror stories and consistently making every mood swing a side effect of the medication. I remember a so called friend (not a stranger on a message board) telling me that she thought the medication had changed me as a person. Turns out, she lost a smoke buddy and was irritated about it. Well 14 months later....I am still quit and am definitely enjoying my non-smoker, healthier, fitter me.
When you have been medically advised to do something, I'd like to think that you chose your doctor's based on credentials.
Great weight loss by the way!!! And welcome. I am trying to get as many processed foods out of my cupboards as possible at home so I think you will be a great resource!.

He was using Chinese medical training on me, calling me a statistic - TO MY FACE! Was telling me low-fat this and that, giving me written materials of his study from China. I told him that I do not believe in studies and that I would appreciate we focus on my health with american medical education. He kept referring me as a statistic in the conversation, and I finally got up and said "ENOUGH.... If YOU CANT REMEMBER MY NAME AND HAVE TO GO TO YOUR LAPTOP COMPUTER TO SEE WHAT MY NAME IS, THEN YOU ARE FIRED!" I got so freaking mad... I was referred to as a statistic, not Mrs. Cramer, or Melanie. No bedside manner at all...
My new Endo - who has worked in five different countries AND specializes in women with metabolic disorders, IR and PCOS, asked if I would be interested in meeting with her. The only hitch was she was booked six months out. I said no problem - put me on a cancellation list, and set up an appointment.
I ended up only waiting 3 months and my first visit was to attack this aggressively... we started with allergy testing right there... That was six months ago - and look at my damn ticker!!!! YEAH BABY!Great weight loss by the way!!! And welcome. I am trying to get as many processed foods out of my cupboards as possible at home so I think you will be a great resource!.
Welcome.

I read her profile. She's very honest and to the point and I still think she'd make a great addition.
I'm hoping she remains with us but I'm not sure if she will (she sent me an email explaining some of her many concerns - some are mentioned in her original post, too.)
All we can do is remain supportive with each other AND ACTIVE and hope we keep THE awesome people that I believe we already have - always room for more though!
Our group's responses were amazingly honest too and rang a lot of truth. I'm glad you guys are with us, too.

Awesome to have you, too -
Hoping our little growing group can continue to get great people - one of these days, we'll have to have a competition/challenge for it, but me thinks it's too early for that yet.
