Keto Specific MFP Suggestions

Hey all! I am really enjoying using MFP and participating in Reddit on my Keto journey. I have noticed a few things that could be improved in MFP that would really help Keto people.

1. Net Carb calculations. I think it would be huge if this were an option. I know its simple math but many people coming from /r/keto seam to mess it up the first time they use MFP

2. Exercise changing goals. This one might just be me, but I've set my fat, protein and weight goals based on my calories and I would like to keep to it. If I add exercise and don't pay attention, it totally messes with my ratios and I think I can eat more than I should.

I am asking that if you guys agree, could you post in response to my suggestions on the web forum? I assume that they look at how many people suggest what and then whichever features are most requested, they implement them.

  • I've been paying attention more to the carbs I've taken in than to the 'carbs remaining' personally, which helps me stay under my goal for the most part. I watch the macro counts, too.

I don't always log my exercise, though, just because I'm lazy. :D
  • Yeah, the longer I use it the more I am just trying to track my carbs. If it were 100% uniform and you could always enter your items by volume, I would definitely use it more. So far though, it can be quite a pain to convert from what I measured on the scale to the units for specific items. Still much better than keeping track my self.

The number one thing that is missing is sharing recipes between friends. My wife and I eat the same things so this would be a big advantage.

Here's a cool trick to track your net carbs. I just used it on my food diary.:

ETA: There's no need to actually create the new food because people already have. Just search for "Net Carb Adjustment" and use one.

Doesn't that defeat the point of tracking nutrition if people make fake food?

I love the Net Carb Javascript which works great for review when I get back to a laptop, but I like the net carb remediator part since it displays in the mobile apps.
