Hi everyone. I thought I would start a general thread where anyone could ask a question, generic or specific, and the experienced runners could answer. I started like everyone else where I could barely run for more than a minute. I built up a lot of endurances and have ran a lot of races in the past year, 5ks, 10ks, and half marathon. My best 5k time last year was 22:36, 10k was 46:32, and half marathon 1 hour 55 minutes. I've lost a good amount of weight but I am not a skinny runner by any means. You all can do this. It just takes a little persistence and dedication.

Shoes : Understandably shoes will play a large part in ensuring that we continue running, so wanted to get feedback from the "pros" here, what would be a good shoe for heavy 260 pound-er beginning this journey

I lot of expert runners will suggest going to a running store and having your foot tested so they can give you the best shoe for your particular foot. I honestly just never wanted to do that. For the past year, I wore reebok zigs. I never had one issue with my legs at all. Everyone will have a different opinion because there is no one shoe that is great for everyone.
