I'm happy to see people out there that have heard of the nutritarian movement or that are interested!
Thanks for joining.
I changed my caloric needs and protein, fat, fiber, carb needs from the standard myfitnesspal recommendations to what Dr. Fuhrman wrote in Eat to Live. I'll post that sample daily caloric needs when I get home tonight.

I was happy to see the Nutritarians theme introduced here. I'm a big proponent of ETL and Dr. Fuhrman also happens to live near me. So I not only know his work but a few of my neighbors have been his patients. One has signed copy. I'm a little jealous.0

Hi Guys- I was glad to see this is a group. While I have read the book twice now, I didn't realize he had specific caloric guidelines- what are they for females? I know his weight range which is lower then the typical range etc.0

The guidelines are fewer than 1600 calories for women, and fewer than 2300 calories for men. Hope that helps!0

Hi, my name is Sandy and I read Eat to Live a few years back. I would like to see Dr. Fuhrman's alternate recommendations about protein, fat, fiber and carbs. I seem to remember that he felt that protein was overrated by many eating plans, and now more than ever I see a lot of focus on protein for health.0

I need to get out the books and find his recommendations on protein, fat and carbs too. Both my partner and I have really taken to this style of eating. He only had about 20 pounds to lose and he has been doing a pretty strenuous fitness routine also. He looks great! However, he does eat a lot of protein and uses supplemental protein shakes. Since I plan and cook most of the meals, it would be good to know how much protein we really do need at a meal.0

Just searched the topic and found you all! Great! Hard to find a few months back = D I saw Dr. F. on PBS in September, read ETL by October and currently using Eat for Health to guide me. Feel so much better and am used to no salt and no oil now. Looking forward to sharing recipes. Do feel free to friend me as I'd love a growing ETL support group. I am looking to be in the 90% vegan group. I'm not a fan of processed foods, although for good or bad I do use things occasionally like Thai green chili paste, etc. for extra flavor. I'm a huge fan of the blended salads for lunch and the spinach, chocolate, banana, berry smoothie for breakfast! I expect to do better and better as time goes by! So excited to see all of you here!

Hi all. My name is Natasha. Dr F comes on a local radio station in Raleigh 3-5 times a year. I've known about ETL for a few years but just started my journey in August 2011 at 230. Today I'm at 185 and ready to get back on track. Christmas and then my bday vame so I've been at 185 since mid Dec. Feb is my no cheat month. I am starting the 6 week plan all over again.
Thanks Susanswan for telling me about this group.0 -
Hi all, I'm Heather and I just started on E2L a couple of weeks ago. I'm pretty happy with this plan as that I love fruit and veggies and was vegan for many years until an obesity specialist told me to eat more protein. I did lose weight on his plan, but I felt like an airhead and was hungry all of the time Although it was very low cal, after several months I started to regain weight despite exercising and restricting calories. My naturopath said my body was in shock(starvation mode) and was holding on to every calorie since I had underfed it for so long. I am hopeful and optimistic that following this new, healthy plan will be my way to fitness and health. I look forward to learning and sharing advice, experiences and recipies with you all.0

Hi, I'm Jenn and I've done the ETL plan before but just couldn't sustain it for the long haul. I'm very interested in practicing cleaner eating habits, and have started off by requiring at least one large salad per day for the month of February. I eat a vegan diet, and am eager to learn new recipes and put them to the test. I live alone so I really have no one holding me back but myself.0

I started ETL Iin June 2012 by accident. Just blindly jumped in. Read his book many times, it's on my iPad and I refer to it daily, along with the china study, super immunity, and unprocessed by Chef AJ. is only been 10 weeks for me, and more than loosing the weight )I look at that as a side effect) I feel sooooo much better. Off all meds, except vit D and B12. Looking forward to traveling this journey, and ending it with a awesome quality of life....wow as I type that...did I say ending my life? I guess I did....Husband keeps telling me we are all going to die....and I keep telling him, it's not the dying that is the point here...it's the quality of life I am after....funny seeing it in words...0

You can change those absurd dietary recommendations? Awesome! I am a little embarrassed to ask, but I can't be the only one who has been looking for a way to change MFB's settings on that. Help!
EDIT: Found it! Go to home tab, then click "Goals." ( http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/765597-how-to-set-my-own-limits-for-proteins-carbs-fats-etc?page=1#posts-11407482 )0 -
Just noticed this and two other Nutritarian groups here. I've been on ETL since mid-July and still going strong. I'm VERY pleased with my progress and very happy to see fellow "Fuhrmanites" on this site. I haven't browsed the discussions yet. Just wanted to introduce myself and say how happy I am to be eating this way.
We should join forces. There are at least two other groups dedicated to the Nutritarian lifestyle: (1) Eating To Live and (2) Eat To Live Book by Dr. Fuhrman -- all with good support and advice for the rest of us.0
