Intermittent Fasting

As I am drinking my morning coffee w/ half and half, I'm tossing around the idea of doing an Intermittent Fast. But I've put something in my stomach. Last week when I did one, I did not drink any coffee....I went from dinner the night before straight to lunch, with a little hot water and lemon in the morning. So basically 16 hours w/o any calories.
I read on Marks Daily Apple many people will do the IF but drink the "Bulletproof Coffee" in the morning (if you aren't familiar, it's basically coffee with butter in it.) Can this really be considered a fast? It's basically liquid calories and fat. Can you achieve fasting results with 100 calories of butter in your mug?

I am pretty sure after the first hour those 100 calories will be burnt. then it is still a fast, but I am not so sure about drinking it during a fast, however your body will still be at a great deficit if you do. I havent read up on the IF too much. I end up doing them not by choice but because of my hectic schedule.0

The 'intermittent fast' is basically a fancy-assed way of saying 'skipped a meal or two'. No matter when you start fasting, you'll have ingested calories just prior, so don't worry about it.
I skip meals all the time. Eat breakfast, fuggedabout lunch, and eat dinner whenever we get to it....0 -
I haven't heard of the coffee thing... But I do the IF thing most days, to some degree. I generally don't feel hungry when I wake up, and I like working out on an empty stomach. So usually I don't eat anything before noon, sometimes later.
That being said, if I wake up and my body is sending strong hunger signals, I will eat. Actually, any time my body sends strong hunger signals, I will eat something. Since giving up the grains, I don't have food cravings anymore, and have learned to listen to my body in terms of when I *need* to eat.
I feel like there's a difference between feeling empty and feeling hungry. Yes, when I wake up in the morning, I'm aware that I'm empty. But I'm usually not hungry. So I don't feed myself, until I am.

ok, I'm not going to overthink this any more. Which is probably a good rule of thumb for the primal lifestyle in general, yes?
In any case I'm both intrigued and slightly repulsed by the idea of Bulletproof Coffee. One of these days I'll blend some up and give it a go. People swear by it!0
