I checked in to see what was new on Gary Taubes' website and I found this information which paleo people might want to check out. It's interesting. Gary started working with Peter last year on some new initiatives relative to insulin and they wrote a letter together in response to an article in the NYT on 12/28/11 (The Fat Trap) which basically stated that obesity is effectively incurable. Peter's website is nice and has some great links.

Here are links to Gary & Peter's sites and the article/response letter/petition sites. Check out the list of doctors who signed the petition letter after you've read it. It supports what we have been saying in various posts on this group's discussion list for the last couple of weeks as well as our perspective regarding our food plan/lifestyle. Interesting reading and worth showing to those naysayers in your life. Cheers.

Wow! "The Fat Trap" is a horrible article. I especially cringed reading the woman's story about how she maintains her 195lb weight. THIS is why I choose to eat primal. I think this journalist perpetuated 50% of the most horrible diet myths. The people in the Australian study were coached to "eat more veg" and "eat less fat" yet gained most of their weight back, gee what a surprise! And it seemed every solution to losing weight was presented as eating a 500 or 800 calorie diet!

I'm now on to read the reply!

Very interesting. I agree with Taubes, but I base it on personal experience.
