going over calories

Hi All,
Sorry if this is a repeat question!
I read Dr Briffa's book, Escape the Diet Trap over the weekend, and it seems like his premise is quite similar to Mark Sisson's primal eating: it's lower carb, whole foods, meat and veg, with dairy in moderation thrown in. I started Monday, and I have to say, I already feel like a different person...loads of energy, never hungry, and I've already dropped 4 pounds!
My only concern with this eating plan and using MFP is that I'm going over my calories by about 100-200 cals, but my carbs are usually under what I have set in my goals. I know that with Dr Briffa's plan, I am 'not supposed' to count calories, but the going over does concern me. Thing is, I eat three meals a day, no real snacks, and I eat enough at a meal to feel satisfied, but not over stuffed. I did have a few non Primal foods this week, simply because I hate wasting food, so I am trying to eat up the stuff in the fridge (it was only yogurt, so nothing naughty, particularly!)
Should I worry about it now, or give it a bit more time to 'tweak' things...it seems a good sign that I've already lost a bit, so I am probably just being a bit paranoid!!
Thanks!

If you are losing fat and feel good, I'd just roll with that and not look back.
The calories here are just an estimate. Any number of things may make your metabolism vary from the estimate average.0 -
I agree with ganesha and wouldn't worry about it too much! You're feeling awesome, your'e losing even when going over by a few (not uncommon given that it's all just estimates and you could very well be burning more calories daily than you think you are). Sounds like a good deal to me

Keep up the good work!0 -
You can set your calories to whatever you want. That's one of the things that really impressed me about this site. I could tweak my settings for my diet, and not be compared to some arbitrary measure someone else thinks is healthy.

This is great thanks! I think I'm so ingrained with traditional dieting that 'going over the cals is BAD', so I was intitially freaked out (plus I don't FEEL like I'm dieting...I'm eating what seems to be loads, which I'm not used to on a diet!!) so it's nice to know it's not something I need to stress too much about. I do exercise most days, even if it's just a quick 30 minute walk, and once I've gotten past the first few weeks of eating right, I will look into doing some of the training recommended with this eating plan.
Glad I found you guys here...I will look forward to more good advice!
