Severe DOMS - is there a quick fix?

Options
Hi guys. I started back lifting this week after a holiday hiatus and my leg muscles are SCREAMING. My other muscles are pretty sore too, but I'm mostly concerned with my legs since I'm supposed to go backpacking this weekend. Not huge mileage, but when every step is torture...

I'm taking Mobic (prescription strength Advil) and resting today, plan to drink even more water than I usually do. Is there anything else I can do to ease the soreness? Take a leisurely soak in the hot tub after packing my gear tonight? Icy hot?

TIA!

Same happened to me and am wondering the same thing. So what did you end up doing? Did it help? I'll follow in your footsteps and do the SEARCH... LOL!

I was on a 3month hiatus! Basically starting over! Walking like FRANKENSTEIN right now! Hehehe!!!!

    1. Icy hot - bengay is usually cheaper
    2. Shower: Hot 5 min, Cold 5 min, Hot 5 min.
    3. Light jog, no matter how much it hurts that blood flow will do wonders
    4. Foam rolling
    5. herbal tea, RELAX, take a nap.
