Does anyone use the Apps available on smart phones?

If so I was wondering how they worked? Are they worth the fee? Or is there a free one out there that I haven't found yet.

Today is W2 D1 for me ~ YAY!!!!

I used Get Running which was about £2.99 but well worth it, so nice to have your music and be told when to run and walk, takes a lot of the hassle out of it. I think there are some free ones if you search.

I'm using the Ease Into 5k app, in fact I just "graduated." It's been long enough that I can't remember what I paid, I may have had to purchase a GPS plug-in, but even at $2.99, it's less than a packo f cigarettes (I've quit) or even a Venti cup of Sbux (I haven't quit).
I have become a runner for the first time at age 57, so I believe it is an awesome investment!

Thank you!! I found one called runners keeper that allows me to do a 2 week trail.
  • There's a pinned topic with app review :-)
I use the official app from Cool Running (Active.com) called "Couch-to-5k", and I think it's very good. It has the original running program (which I know not all of the apps do) and let's you sync your playlist.
However, strictly speaking since I'm running on a treadmill I don't really need an app... :-P

I just checked it out & found it very helpful. Thank you so much!!!

I use RunKeeper, which is free (the associated website is free and good, but does charge for some advanced features). It took about 15 mins to set up the C25K intervals and it works great so far. I love the maps and time/pace data it tracks.

I have Guy Hoffman's C25k app, and now the bridge to 10k app and I track it with Endomondo.
