Hi Everyone! Yay! Primal/Paleo is just the way I want to eat. A little background about me: I have been overweight most of my life, tried all sorts of diets and lost and gained back, repeat over and over. I have been reading about Primal/Paleo for about a year but haven't fully committed before now. In January I did 15 days strict Paleo and felt awesome! Then I read some things somewhere that said people were leaving Paleo and couldn't sustain it. So I of course listened to those few instead of all the wonderful research out there about how good this lifestyle is for you. I tried a few grains here and there. Felt horrible, battled with myself and went back and forth for a few weeks. Talk about messing up the body. I got heartburn back, leg cramps, and headaches. Just felt crappy. Ate mostly paleo yesterday then had oatmeal for breakfast today. So not a good idea. I got this sugar rush, heartburn, headache and stomach cramps. I was also STARVING before 10:00 AM! That sucks! So that's it. I'm doing this no matter what. I feel better, I know I will lose the weight. I won't be hungry. It will be hard at home as I have a husband and 3 teens who don't get this way of eating and won't try it. So I still have to buy some of the grains and stuff for them. But I will succeed! I need some support and motivation from others who are eating this way also. I've read through a lot of posts in this group and decided to join. Hope I can get to know some of you.

Sheila

Been eating paleo almost a year ... the benefits to your health improve with time, and weight loss just comes along with it. This is a 'diet' that makes you healthier--it's not all about calories and losing weight. Give it some time and do lots of research ... everyone has different carb/fat/protein needs based on activity, age and heritage so you have to find what's best for you.

My husband and I are working our way towards a paleo lifestyle. It's hard for him to break the addiction to carbs and sweets, but we both feel so much better when we eat paleo.
    Feel free to add me!
