Hi all,
I've struggled to lose at 1200 cals so have gone up to 1470 this last week.

I have lost since start of feb 3.5lb in total but part of that was a gain from 1st feb as it was my birthday so likely not a real loss (if that makes sense).

I am up from when i started uni last sept by 7lb still and it's really annoying me. I am trying to stay strong in the inches not lbs and started to register my body fat as a way of doing this along with measuring. I have seen 1.5 inch loss in my bust and waist but would love to be out of the obese range sooner rather than later.

So.. any help / ideas on how much you're eating would be helpful.

  • I was on 1200 as well, but after having a look around and finding that at my goal weight I should be consuming 1650 cals I upped it to 1400, means I can get more protein etc in, but I want to focus on getting muscle not just weight loss, so the tape measure is my scale now. I'm holding of measuring myself at the moment and will do maybe half way through and at the end.
It's nicer tan getting on the scale and ending up in a foul mood because it hasnt shifted.

I find 1400 is easier to eat at and if I go under that's great , if not it's okay to. I want to be able to sustain my weight loss ling term and not have my body freak out when I eat 1600 a day.

I just looked around at other people diarys, who have muscles like I want , and see how they do it , and looked at the Internet untill I found something that seemed right for me. Do a search on the threads to, they more you educate yourself the happier you'll be.

    Good luck

I am trying to be tape mesure and body fat minded, it's just hard when for years it's been about the scale. Especially the obese thing.. I'd really like to be into 'overweight' I don't mind that so much as I have never been slim but knowing I'm still obese is getting me down I guess.

good to know I'm on a similar calorie intake and am the same weight you were when you started. I've just been stuck around this since Oct time.

Ahh well... I'll get there. am working on eating 'better' for my 1400 cals now so that is a good start.
