My Couch to 5K Playlist

Since there are intervals of walking and running, I came up with a playlist of songs that mention running or walking.
500 Miles - The Proclaimers
Run like Hell - Pink Floyd
Fire on the Mountain - Grateful Dead
I Ran - Flock of Seagulls
Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads
Run Around - Blues Traveler
Shakedown Street - Grateful Dead
The Distance - Cake
Walking on the Moon - The Police
The playlist lasts about as long as the training, approx. 30 minutes.
The songs are a lot of fun and they make me forget how much time is passing.
Enjoy

Nice, some of those come up on my phone too!
I also sometimes get:
Walk Like a Panther - All Seeing Eye
No Distance Left to Run - Blur
Walk Like an Egyptian - Bangles
oh yeah and Move By Yourself by Donavon Frankenreiter
Must admit I usually just set my phone to random and see what happens - I used to find I ran to the song beat but now my little legs just chug along independently. The Wombles turned up the other day when I was going up a hill and helped a lot.0 -
I like listening to The Gorillaz when I sometimes decide to go a little longer after my podcast is over.
I love shakedown street!0 -
A couple I just added to my IPod would work on your playlist. 'Race You to the Bottom' by New Medicine and 'Just Run' by Digital Summer.0

Also:
Running Down A Dream - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
Ready to Run - Dixie Chicks
And it's not about running, but nothing beats Bon Jovi, Living on a Prayer!0 -
My playlist is built round my comfortable jogging pace, around 6mph, the music is all in the 150-155 bpm range which suits my cadence perfectly..
Power - Kanye West (warmup walk)
Sex on fire - Kings of Leon
Message in a Bottle - The Police
Spaceman - The Killers
DOA - Foo Fighters
Blue Orchid - The White Stripes
Good Day - Angels & Airwaves
155 - +44
Take your mama out - Scissor Sisters
She moves in her own way - The Kooks
Beast & The Harlot - Avenged Sevenfold (good driving finisher)
Week 8 here I come...0 -
I don't know what I'd do without my iPod while I'm running...music is about the only thing on Earth that motivates me to move! I find that any song from the past that I danced to at clubs and hard rock/metal are the ones that really get me moving!0

Just added Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry (7 minute remastered live version) Blew through the usual starting out aches listening to this track, 7 minutes flew past while I sang in my head, not really noticing I was running.

I'm an indie/alternative girl, but can allow myself to listen to more pop stuff when working out.
My top songs right now are:
Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) - Kelly Clarkson
Sprawl (Mountains Upon Mountains) - Arcade Fire
Houdini - Foster The People
Shoot The Runner - Kasabian
Flux - Bloc Party
Eastern Europe - The Stills0 -

I NEVER listened to music while I worked out until recently. Walking or running was just a way to clear my head and I enjoyed hearing nothing! (Of course my friends think I'm nuts.) I completed C25K on New Year's Day, and I decided to try music after that. At first it was really tough. My pace and breathing were really off because I was trying to run to the tempo of the music. Now, I don't know how I ever ran without it! I am about 90 seconds faster per mile than I was without music. (I'm sure just running more often is a big factor, but I really think the music helps.)
I don't have a playlist, but my favorite is Pandora's Pop and Hip Hop Power Workout station.0 -

I'm not sure anything could get me pumped at 5:30 a.m., but I agree! There are some other cardio/ workout stations on there, but I don't like them as much.0 -
that is great!!!!!
My top 3 are
Born this Way - Lady Gaga (For some reason I am always able to relate this song to my weight loss journey)
Fireworks - Katy Perry (Because I can shine and I have it inside I just have to let it out)
What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger - Kelly Clarkson (Title says it all!)
Listening to these songs and their lyrics really helps me push through the pain and to keep going. The lyrics are just as important to the beat to me.0 -
