Just did W4D1 - I'm feeling really good! It's really given me the confidence that I can do this - even the 20 minute run on W5D3 doesn't seem too intimidating now. I took it really slow today - I'll try and pick up the pace a tad next time.

Well done! Good luck with next week.

W4D2 for me today. I managed to go a bit faster, my legs weren't as sore as day 1 and my breathing wasn't as stressed towards the end. Had enough juice in the tank to pick it up on my last run and managed to get about 300m further than last time. I'm pleased with how this week has gone so far.

Silly me - thought I had completed Week 5! Went to look at the program for Week 6 and realised the 2nd and 3rd day are different in these weeks so I will have to repeat day 2 and 3 of week 5. Thought it was too easy!

Oh no! You'll be fine though.

Just did Week 5 Day 2 - I took it really slow and was really pleased with the results. Both 8 minute runs were fine, and for the second run I decided to just keep going for as long as I could. So I ran all the way throughout the cool down period. I haven't managed to run for 13 minutes without stopping since high school! It's given me more confidence for the 20 minute run coming up next.

Completed Week 6 - Yay managed to run non-stop for the 25mins today. Repeated Day 3 of this week as I couldn't do it non stop last time.

Finished Week 7 today. Felt really good. Finally feeling good about running even if only on the treadmill. My breathing is steady and heart rate around 155-160bpm (not sure if that's good or not!)

I'm pretty sure there is a "gateway to 8km" and a "bridge to 10km" out there....

What do you guys log the exercise as in MFP? I've been logging it as running 12 min mile but there's a huge difference in calories burned compared to dailymile where it logs my pace more accurately.

I started this yesterday, Day 1, Week 1. I still ache a little today. I only managed 6 rounds of 1 minute running but that's okay, I am incredibly unfit and have never been able to run for more than 2 minutes in my life so I am doing each week twice to be slow but sure.

Kimberleycomm, I entered mine separately, like did 6mins of running 12minute mile then did 34mins walking ( I walked longer than necessary to make up for only doing 6 sessions of running).

Day 2 tomorrow, yay, looking forward to it to!!!

Just found out that you can download podcasts for each week and there are free ones. Be a very useful tool especially in the beginning of the program. I am on wk6 day 1 and just wanted it for speed more. Have a look :o) Hope this helps someone

WOW ... well done ... what an inspiration ... i am on week 2 but have shin splints so have been doing it on my cross trainer which is not really the same but less impact ... hope to be able to run it soon ... trying to keep my fitness up till i can do on road again. Great job.
