I thought I remembered there being a setting if you are pregnant? How did each of you change your settings to allow for the new baby?

I plan on maintaining through first trimester, set to gain 1/2lb per week during the second, and gain 1lb per week during the 3rd.

I customized the settings by figureing out my maintenance calories and then will add the recommended increase as the different trimesters approach. I believe I have an extra 200 on there now.

Forgot to add, I also am a bottomless pit in the morning (I have to eat almost constantly until about noon) and then I'm overly full all afternoon! How wierd is that?

    :ohwell:

I eat between 1500 and 1800 a day. I am starting out obese and my Dr said that I should not need to gain more than 20lbs. I do go over at times though, but try to watch it!!! I dont want to gain 70 lbs like I did with my son!!!!!

That sounds like a good plan. I gained 30 lb with my first and was already overweight. I'd like to shoot for a 25 lb gain- if I can keep the eating under control!

Good for you to be watching your weight. I was in the obese category with my previous two pregnancies and gained about 25lbs and was able to loss it within 3 months so I'm sure you can do the same if you gain around that amount. I am still in the obese category now (even after dropping 24lbs, hate being short, lol) so I hope to keep it around 25lbs again.

That sounds low to me. Obese women are supposed to gain less but not lose during pregnancy and you are likely eating at a fairly large deficit. I would say 1800-2000 would be more reasonable. If you set your MFP to maintenance first trimester and then half a pound a week after that your weight gain would be around 20 pounds. Pregnancy is not the time for dieting...if you eat too low you could have a low birthweight baby which can present health issues. I would just try playing around with your calories till you find what is maintenance for yourself. 1500 would only be maintenance if you're very short, very thin or on bedrest. (Even then it's probably low.)
