Well, we finally have another finisher! Great Job Maria!

We also have two that will be finishing at any point this week, Christa and Kim - Great Job, guys. To any of you - if you would like to join David and Maria on their lap back after you finish, let me know! :)

I have accepted that there is no way, short of severely hurting myself by training too hard that I will finish this challenge, but I am going to go as far as I can!

Smurfette - Great Mileage!

Leslye - Great job with your St. Paddy's Day run!

Amanda - How did your half go?!

Jessie - Great last couple of weeks! Way to keep your mileage up!

For all of you: Who or what is your inspiration to run/walk/workout? Mine is that I want abs like these:

I am back from Tucson. Thank you everyone for your prayers and warm thoughts while I was out. To abbreviate a long story… My brother had been fighting cancer and diabetes for the past 21 years. At least 7 surgeries, radiation, chemo, you name it, he did it. For the past 5 years he’s been steadily getting worse. In constant pain, not able to keep anything down, which only aggravated his diabetes. Not able to heal from most of his surgeries due to the diabetes. He’s pretty much been bed-ridden the past 2 years. The last time I saw him, which about a year ago, he was in the hospital, and when I walked in the room I didn’t even recognize him. Until he spoke, I seriously thought I was in the wrong room. He finally lost the battle Saturday night. He was only 58.

I miss him dearly, but trust me when I say, I/we are so happy to see it over. His quality of life was non-existent, for him or our sister-in-law. He is finally cancer free, pain free and diabetes free for the first time in 21 years. I cry tears of joy for him now, knowing he is in heaven and I will see him some day again.

We will be having a memorial in about a month when all our family can “easily” come together as they have a son that is in Iraq until the first week of April.

Again, thank you all so much, your prayers, concerns and support. Trust me, it was felt.

^ My condolences to you, Leslye on the death of your brother. I understand the conflict between the end of suffering and missing their presence forever. I lost a sister many years ago. Thoughts are with you...
