Happy birthday everybody!
So. . church girl. . .
I've been texting her occasionally, and she(almost) always responds. . but she isn't initiating anything and didn't reply to my last one. . .:(. . Don't worry. . I don't give up THAT easily. . but I just can't figure this one out. . I'm not sure if it's me. This is the first time I've tried to connect with someone since my divorce that wasn't an online thing or someone I already knew, so I just don't remember how to do it and how to interpret all the signals, etc. . very awkward! And to top it off, I probably won't even make it to church this weekend, because my son gets back from his cruise Sunday morning.
sooo. . any suggestions?

Sometimes I answer texts in my mind and forget to actually text the person back. lol. Does anyone else do that?

Call her one day when you're feeling brave. Make it a short conversation (unless it keeps flowing) and depending on if she sounds open to you, ask her out!!!!0 -

Definitely call her. If I'm texting or online chatting with a guy and he doesn't ask questions about me - in other words keep the conversation flowing - then I sometimes won't respond. Always include a question or 'tell me more" to keep the dialogue going.0 -

WOW sounds like some great stuff is happening to all you wonderful Single Peeps! JAX your date last night sounds amazing!! And yes, if she was able to doze off, then she most certainly is very comfortable with you. The plan to go slower rather than faster on a physical level - I think that shows that you really care about her. So I hope things continue to go well!
My update - one of my 2nd dates from last weekend I ended up needing to slow put the brakes on things. He's a great guy but the connection wasn't there in person. Over the phone/text thing were great. But in person I struggled to have that spark happen.
This weekend I have a 3rd date with one guy. Not sure that it's going to go anywhere but he's fun to hang out with and we seem to just be content hanging out. After being out of the dating scene for 10 years, I'm having a good time just getting out again. Not really in a huge rush to be in a serious relationship anyhow.
I also have a 1st date this weekend.....maybe more of a "meetup" than a date. Met here on MFP and have chatted online for months now. So we're finally both at a place where we are free to meet in person - so that'll be great! And Sunday, I plan for some serious R&R! I haven't taken a down day in a long time and I'm so ready for it!0 -

I'm sure you're fine. I think it's funny how we all can talk a storm up until we are ga-ga over somebody then we turn into puddy and can't seem to function. Funny but I hate it!

This guy friend of mine and I have started hanging out a little bit, flirting etc. I like him but I just don't know how much I like him. It's kind of weird too because we were friends for a long time before this. He's so nice and he's a great guy for any girl to have, but I just don't think I can like him like that. He started texting me a while back, and I kind of reciprocated because I decided to give it a chance. We've been out a couple of times, and it was fun, but it makes me nervous to think about going any further with that - innocent hanging out.
I'm just really conflicted right now! I honestly think I'm not ready to be a relationship, and that is why this is happening. I just don't want to let him down.0 -
