any MRP bars / protein bars etc that you might use?

I had been buying Premier protein bars from costco (good protein ratio for me) then switched to EAS myoplex lite.
Mind you, this was in my chronic cardio 45/35/20 days.
Are there any pre prepared bars that you would eat now? The EAS bars have HFCS and both of them have too many senseless carbs from the goo holding the proteins together.
The "nut" bars I have seen have lots of peanuts.
While I don't rely on these things, when doing a long workout day or when I'm in the field and need something, I turn to a bar.
I know this qualifies as processed food...
But I'm looking for non HFCS, moderate carbs from good sources if at all. Solid protein.
Any recommendations?
(btw, I will do the hard boiled egg or jerky snacks - but sometimes those don't do well in my briefcase.)

I like lara bars and kind bars, they are mainly dried fruit and nuts with no gluten, but they are low in protien0

There are Pure Bars, which do have agave and brown rice protein, but other than that are mostly whole fruits and nuts. I might buy them in an emergency. At least they aren't mostly puffed rice, like Kind bars.0

Nope, I don't do any bars. Feels too "processed" to me. But I know that there are lots of recipes out there for make-your-own Primal/Paleo-friendly protein bars, and if I felt like I wanted to do protein bars, that's probably the way I would go.

the change in your profile pic caught me off guard.
I will look into the recipe thing. This way of life has moved me much more to doing things at home and I'm loving it.0 -

I like Larabars although I try to eliminate them when attempting to lose body fat.0 -

I asked my Paleo Coach about Larabars since they have been my go to in a pinch snack...
I was told noooooo don't eat them - as they contain brown rice syrup in every bar and she says that is a paleo No-No...
Now I am on a 30 day challege...so I won't eat them during the 30 days...I did find a few recipes for homemade ones - so I am going to try my hand at making some of those so I can be certain what is in them...
Note Larabars don't contain much protien - I usually ate mine with a bit of jerky to balance out the carbs/fats from the fruits and nuts. (then again you have to read the ingrediate list on the jerky you buy - my husband makes his own)0 -
Apparently your coach never read the ingredients label. Lara bars don't contain brown rice syrup. Only dates, fruits, and nuts. Sometimes chocolate chips.:the change in your profile pic caught me off guard.

I have a Pure bar wrapper here that was part of my run-out-the-door breakfast. I bought it to try it because it was organic, gluten-free, raw. It contains a little more carbs and less protein than I would like and some questionable ingredients, but like you say, in a pinch it is much better than the other bars. Here is all of the info.
Ingredients: Organic Dates, Organic Cashews, Organic Walnuts, Organic Rice Protein Concentrate, Organic Wild Blueberries (Organic Wild Blueberries, Organic Apple Juice Concentrate, Organic Sunflower Oil), Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Almonds, Organic Lemon Juice Concentrate, Organic Blueberry Flavor.
190 cals, 8 fat, 5mg sodium, 180mg Potassium, 26g carbs, 3g fiber, 19g Sugars, 6g Protein.0 -

You know I am going to ask her again - I went to the Larabar site to double check - because when she told me it contained brown rice I thought to myself it wasn't on the label - and I read the labels because I wanted to make sure the ones I was choosing didn't have Cashews....
When i went to the site it did say the Uber Bars have Brown Rice Syrup...hummmmm I would think if they were going to talk about the Brown Rice Syrup in the Uber bars they would mention its in the Lara bars....0 -

Somehow my response ended up as a quote in a quote - oh well...I am off to ask my Coach about that - because I sure would like to use Lara bars in a pinch and not be going against the 30 day challenge0 -
Re: Larabars - I did some checking and asked my coach - she was mistaken to a point - you do want to stay away from the UBER bars as they contain brown rice and honey....
she looked at all the bars and the ingrediants and suggested to stay away from any of the bars that have chocolate or peanut butter and any of the "pie" bars - blueberry, cherry, apple - due to the higher natural sugars....
I for one am glad because Larabar was my in a pinch snack
I am staying aways from Cashews so that leaves me with just a few to choose from - mainly Gingersnap and Carrot Cake0 -
I experimented with making pemmican using rendered lamb fat, shredded homemade beef jerky, and dried cherries - I liked the result but my husband wasn't so keen --
here are some protein bar sites that I found but I haven't tried any of the recipes yet -- a simple google search for home made paleo protein bars revealed lots of recipes:

OMG I made the coconut cream pie larabars and my kids and I LOVE them!! Ditched the oil from the second batch and it was fine too. Going for a big epic tramp at Easter and we're taking these as our high energy snack - YUM!0
