Another geeky thing. When I read "Getting to know you" I have to sing it in my head to the song from The King and I. The same with Good Morning it has to go with the song from Dancing in the Rain. I love old musicals.0

Party pooper!!! :grumble: Just kidding.. you're NOT a party pooper. This I know for sure.
Wellllllll I don't know if it's nerdy but I go into a crack like high when I decorate cakes. I do it as a hobby and really enjoy it. It's therapeutic.
Here's my favorite one that I've made thus far:
Story is this is an inside joke because my dad has always loved UFO things and a while back I took my dad to watch "Battle L.A", which he HATED. He said it was "too much bullets" and that it wouldn't happen like that if there were aliens attacking. (my dad has a sweet accent and doesn't say "many", he says "much".) Everytime we talk on the phone he asks me if I've seen the dumb movie again and cracks jokes about it. He loved loved loved his cake and said he didn't want to cut it.
Wow! Amazing! :flowerforyou:0 -

That's exactly what I was thinking! I had that song stuck in my head the rest of the afternoon...I grew up on those musicals!
@LA -- seriously, that cake is incredible! I am impressed0 -
I'm so excited people are responding! It's so interesting to me to see how people tick and what different things we all find interesting
I'm silly0 -
My hobbies are golf, gardening and deer hunting.
All frustrate me a good share of the time.
It is in the past now but used to build high performance diesel engines for tractor pulling as well as running one of my own.0 -
The more I look at this thread, the more I want cake.0

I'm a music fanatic and am keeper of all useless, trivial facts. I was a professional baker/ cake decorator back in the day and that battle cake is amazing!0

I like weird/crazy/uncommon stuff in music/videos or art in general... So yeah, definitely not mainstream.

So much more stuff... If only you knew the real power of madness!
Also like composing electronic music and especially using synths.
Best synth I've ever bought is the one shown in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQfljbdDI_o

My fun "thing" is baking....I love to bake, and make treats---most fun if I don't like what i am making because no temptation there. My favorite is basic homemade choc chip cookies, 7 layer bars, choc peanut butter balls and fudge .
Also, when cooking i almost never measure anything...a little of this and little of that....and make up "recipes" as I go along0 -
I like a wide variety of activities... sports (football, hockey, baseball), and even when I was heavier I always liked outdoor activities (camping, hiking, swimming, running, biking, etc). At the same time, I can be a bit of a homebody, reading/gardening and, when I have time, I looooove to try out new recipes. Doesn't happen as much now that I'm a single mom. Finally, I tend to plan a lot of social events (mainly because that's the best way to ensure they're planned such that my little one can tag along).0

I host a web community called Eagle Post (www.eaglepost.net). We're all Southern Miss fans. I also hold a tailgate at each of the home games that can draw over 50 people. I'll have the whole get up set up 7 hours before the game (most of the tailgaters start showing up a couple of hours before the game).0

No, you're sweet
I don't listen to it often, but I have a huge nostalgia for 70/80s reggae/dub music which I grew up listening to on the radio in Jamaica. My parents went there when I was 5 and they were only in their mid 20s, very young and idealistic. It was a time of huge political and cultural change which was reflected in much of the music. We were right in the middle of it all. Because of the political instability, it was quite dangerous at times but for me as a child it was all a huge, exciting adventure
Too many faves to post but here are a couple:

I enjoy football (am a Redskins fan ~ yea, I know, I know...). Love to cook. Am currently on a mission to learn how to cook healthier (am guilty of being a comfort food cook). Only thing I'm not messing with is my italian dishes as they are my italian grandmother's recipes and some things are just forbidden to change!
Enjoy getting down and dirty in the garden. I write custom poetry for people for invitations, graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Have song writing aspirations and am (very slowly) teaching myself how to play piano. Have very eclectic tastes in music, including musicals and choral performances. Love the sound of a gospel choir! All about harmony baby!! Huge fan of live music.
Like to read, hang out with my dog, my friends and with my son when he is home from college. My son's friends call me "Woprah", the white Oprah, as they believe I'm easy to talk to and have given them some sound advice over the years. Quite the compliment coming from 17-18 year old teenage boys. lol
Look fussier than I actually am (girly girl), always treat others the way I wish to be treated and do crave a good cheeseburger once in awhile!0 -

Aww the poor meat didn't get much time for love inspiration to make the most of it? lol
That guy in the last video is amazing! I have to admit, I'm still getting my head around the electronic music thing, but it would be fun to hear some of your stuff. I always find that I appreciate things better when it's someone I "know", even if just through mfp :laugh:0 -
