EARLY morning workout question

I am finishing Chalean extreme in three weeks and thinking about doing NROL4W next. I will need to go to a gym since I need some different equipment that I do not have at home. On many days, getting to the gym can only happen at 5 am. I never exercise in the morning and even though I leave for work early (6:30), the thought of having "strength" this early seems hard.

Is there anyone out there doing this workout early and you are not a morning person by nature? If so, how is it going for you? For those lucky morning birds out there, I am sure you love the early workouts! I am just trying to figure out if I should join the gym and workout this early or figure out something else. Thanks.

Can you get a one or two week trial pass at your local gym? If you can, I would suggest that and try working out in the morning. If this works for you, then consider a membership. Personally, I'm a morning person and love having the gym to myself at 5:00 a.m.

I'm so much not a morning person that I'm included in new employee orientation at work, as in, "That's Jody, don't talk to her before 9 if you can help it." That said, I've worked out in the morning before and I find that it helps me throughout the day. I have a physical job and I can't muster the strength to do anything else after work. I also really like the vibe of the gym in the morning because most of the people are very focused on doing their thing and getting out. I second the idea of a trial membership to see if it will work for you. Good luck!

On days I lift (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday), I go to the gym at 3:30 am :) My problem is getting out of bed and dresses and going. Once I'm there I'm in the right mind set and ready to go. So the getting out of bed and dressed is the hardest part but I just imagine what I want to look like and its enough motivation to get me there.

Thanks so much for the responses! I should try the trial membership thing, I think and and see how I do.

I'm still reading the book and hoping to start next week, but I'm an early bird at the gym too, usually there from 5:30-6:30 am for the few weeks since I joined.
