I feel you... for a few weeks now I've realised it's not even worth wasting a night. It's been kind of a disappointing experience, lol

Aw, don't say that! My friend is having such a good time online I was thinking of singing back up. I did meet some good guys the first time around, but I just didn't have time to wade through all the junk so I didn't even finish out my subscription.

Is it that there's no good guys? poor selection in your area?

I haven't decided which is more frustrating online dating or "real" dating. At least with online dating you can ~TRY~ to pre-screen the wack jobs, narcissistic douche bags, and all around losers. Although, I have been online dating for about 2 1/2 years and that pre-screening is no exact science. :grumble:

I like online dating, I don't need to waste my time talking to people that are allergic to dogs are or like 10 years younger. Most of the people I have met on dating sites have been pretty cool. >knock on wood<

what site are you using roadie  lol

I have had mixed experiences, but overall I agree it is a little better than trying to meet a guy at the grocery store

    Boy Shopping hahahaha!

I have been on and off Match for I am embarrassed to say over a year now. I have had more than my share of complete disappointments and have also met some pretty cool folks. All in all it is very frustrating though. I enjoy the screening and being able to narrow down my "shopping" list though.

Side note I actually met someone from this site the other night, we hung out and had a fantastic time and may do so again tonight.

I met my ex on match, obviously it didn't work out but she's a great person and we are still friends. I've met a couple on eharmony, one of which I'm supposed to get dinner with tonight. I met one on POF about a year ago and we dated for a while. Mainly it's just nice to meet people I have things in common with, we don't always have chemistry but we usually have fun at least.

Quit hijacking the thread or else I'm kicking you out of the group (would only consider doing in order to blow off nervous energy, of course). :flowerforyou:

I have recently tried Match and eHarmony, combined with real life match making attemps from friends (with no success to date obviously, as I am a member of this group, lol). I have met my share of socially awkward peeps, and some other interesting guys that seemed to have the entire package (mature, funny, easy to talk to, kind, etc. etc.) However, the few guys I was really interested to get to know better suddenly vanished! So rather than frustrating, I would say it has been a puzzling experience. LOL

I had some success with Zoosk & OK Cupid. HATED POF. Got a date tomorrow night with someone from Match. But overall, there is several(one in particular) from here I completely adore:flowerforyou:

We seem to have the same plans....and feelings.

Match seems to give it all in the first week, after that it's nearly a waste of time...

I know how you feel. Sometimes I just don't feel up to spending my energy on looking. I mean, I've had pretty decent results with online dating. No scary dates or anything, but obviously have yet to find "the one." That said, I have absolute zero luck meeting anyone in real life, so online seems to be the only way for me :frown:

When I got knee surgery in January, I was feeling a bit lonely and joined eharmony, I met a guy from Arizona (Im in Missouri), even went out to go see him last month but we're just friends now and he even met "the one" 3 weeks after me,lol, so back to being on eharmony, match and even joined okcupid last week cuz one of my friends met someone. I've met nobody and have been doing some boy shopping myself lol.

Guys: do you like when a girl messages you online ? Or is it suppose to be the "wait and let him approach you" like in real life?

I've always thought women just had to weed through the masses of emails they got.
Didn't know you had to look, very interesting.

i'd love to meet someone on MFP.

i do not enjoy dating websites..... i get tired of the messages that talk about their erections from the get go! or the requests for boob pics in message number 2. or once it moves off the site and onto email or texting, getting pics of their junk....... it gets old time after time saying, "NEXT!!"

at least here, i can have some normalcy with people, LOL!!!

I've been on match.com for a few months now. I've gone on some really great dates, and some that are not so great. I've met some guys who I'll be friends with for a really long time, and some creepers I've blocked. But I've had fun with it, and I've been talking with one guy for a few weeks (he lives four hours away)....he came to visit me for the first time last week, and I'm going to see him this weekend. We'll see how it turns out, but regardless, it's been fun! :)

I'm too nervous to put myself out there on a dating site again. I did it when I was 265lbs and got such horrific responses .. "You'd be pretty if you were skinny," "Hefty-much?" and one of my favorites "If we went out, you'd eat me out of my credit card."

Seriously, the harsh comments a really hard to a woman's confidence level, even someone trying to better themselves. I know I've lost 80 lbs since then but still, someone will find SOMETHING to pick on you for or pass you over for. Really wishing we had more networking events out where I am. I've done the Match thing, the POF thing (which was awful) and OkCupid but nothing lasting from any of them. eHarmony is my next possible thought. Guess it's because I also don't find myself to be that attractive, then again, when you get slammed in notes from people you contact with interest, you wonder, "why the heck am I putting myself out there?"

    I guess it's a catch-22.

Ya think? Yea, well, that's what you get when you sit behind a computer screen yet don't have the balls to meet me face to face and say it TO my face. I'm sure he was 4'9", zit infested with a small penis. I'm sure in the long run, I'm the one who scored on that transaction. LOL

Reminds me of that Brad Paisley song.. how does it go again??
