Hi - I've recently become very interested in Ayurveda after having done a fall detox in Sept 2011 and now in following the 3-Season Diet (http://www.lifespa.com/product.aspx?prod_id=134) since early Feb 2012. I am hardly an expert on the topic but I'm interested in connecting with others who are incorporating more Ayurvedic practices into their daily lives, and would love to share new experiences / insights, challenges, recipes, books, products, etc.

Hello! I'm not an expert either, but I am working to incorporate Ayurvedic principles into my life. I am working with the book Ayurveda: A Life of Balance. I am 100% Kapha and trying to learn how to balance out so my body will let go of the extra negativity and weight I've been carrying for so long.
At the moment I'm focusing on implementing the daily routine as prescribed in the book. The hardest part so far is getting up early!
Nice to meet you. It was thoughful of you to start a group. : )0 -
Nice to meet you too! I'm all vata-pitta and so slowing down for me is very difficult. We are opposites. :-)
I've been into a routine where I get up at 5 am and go to bed before 10pm as they suggest, but that was never really a stretch for me. I've always pretty much been sharper in the morning-- I just knocked off 15 minutes at a time until I got to 5. Now I love doing yoga and seeing the sun rise partway through my sun salutations!
I have this cookbook as well, and really like it: http://www.amazon.com/Eat-Taste-Heal-Ayurvedic-Cookbook-Modern-Living/dp/0976917009/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1334357927&sr=8-2
Half of it is recipes, from simple to adventurous (with modifications for each type of dosha); the other half is all kinds of interesting info about Ayurvedic philosophy and lifestyle. I highly recommend it.0 -
Hello! I read an article about Ayurveda and became very interested. Did you find your dosha through a consultation or using the internet? I don't have a ton of extra cash so I haven't booked an appointment with an expert yet, but I don't want to follow something blindly and have it turn out to be wrong!0

Check out www.ayurveda.com. It's the website of a well-known Ayurvedic physician and there's a "Find your dosha" quiz in the Education section of the website, I think.
The books I have also have comprehensive quizes. Let me know if you'd like me to scan and email them to you.
To health!

I use Dr. John's web site a lot: lifespa.com. There is a dosha quiz there too.0

Hi! I know all of these posts are from almost 2 years ago, but I just recently heard of Ayurveda when taking an online workshop to get my CECs. I found it very interesting, and looked into books for a yoga diet. The one I stumbled upon happened to also be about Ayurveda. And I loved it. It has a 4 week plan on getting into changing your ways to suit your dosha. I just started today, actually. I hope it's okay that I joined the group!

Hello! I have been off and on tweaking my diet for a couple years. Eleven days ago I committed to a vegan diet. I've lost three pounds so far.
I started looking at Ayurveda. Realizing I'm predominately pitta, I've adjusted my diet to benefit pitta. So far I feel immensely better. Looking for information and support.0
