Hi! I'm new!

Hello! I've been on this website off and on, but never got into the forums or anything. I thought maybe getting some support would help me finally reach my goals. I'm pretty athletic and have a larger frame, size 12, 5'11" 190lbs, I'm trying to get down into my healthy BMI range which would be around 175lbs. My biggest problem is that I eat too much processed food. I have a busy schedule with classes, internship, and working and the winter blues never helps either. I am a single female and cooking a full meal for one is hard, a lot of times I end up eating granola and yogurt for dinner. I also am moving to San Diego in July, from Cleveland, Ohio, and I am looking forward to living in a more active healthy environment, but I want to work on getting my beach body, to have year round! I tried WW and lost about ten pounds but I hate to spend money to lose weight so I figured I would try to get more involved in this website and see if the support will help me a little more! I will kindly accept friends! :)

    Welcome, Liz! :)
I'm probably the "geezer" of the group, but if you don't mind an "old" friend....feel free to friend me.

Reading thru your intro made me smile....and thiink of myself years ago. :)

I'm all for your goal of "a healthy BMI" but would cautiion not going TOO thin. I'm 6' and shooting for 175-ish. I may readjust. I'm pretty healthy looking right now at 189-192, but would like to get rid of this stupid muffin top. I guess "toned" would be the best word for my fitness goal.

Are you still lifting? That's what I need to add back. As we age, it is SO important to keep our bone/muscle mass. Also, lean muscle helps us "burn more" just in our day-to-day living!

    Blessings,
    Lori
  • Hi Lori!
Yes, I am lifting. I played college basketball for four years and just finished my season in March. I'm pretty good about mixing my strength training and cardio, although I am a cardio-holic. I've made an effort to get back into doing push-ups in the last few months. I can now do 20 without stopping! :) I'll definitely add you!
