A lot of you are sharing your wands, and that's great! If you'd like to get more into the wand that chose you and how you think it relates to you, look below! (These are optional, but I'm very curious to hear about other people's wands!)

1) What wand wood, wand core, wand length, and wand property (swishy, bendy, etc) chose you at Ollivander's?

2) Do you think your wand is a good fit for you based on what Pottermore tells you about it? Why or why not?

Elm and Phoenix Feather, Ten and Three Quarter inches, Quite Bendy

I think so! The core fits me because Phoenix feather wands are capable of a great range of magic but take a long time to reach their full potential. I've always been a late bloomer, and I do things when I'm ready. It's hard to summarize why I think Elm is a good match for me. It's not what I would have chosen for myself, but I suppose that's why the wands do the choosing! I'm a fast learner, which fits my Ravenclaw sorting, and I like to do lots of things and do them well. I think that fits me, or at least the me I strive to be! The length is a little less than average and that seems to mean maybe I have some character flaws that are lacking. There's definitely things I'm working on in my life, so I'll give it that. BUT I'm very happy that my wand is 'quite bendy' because I've been working very hard to be more easy going and less fussy in general.

It's a lot different than the wand I chose for myself from Alivan's (alivans.com - seriously, it's awesome), but that wand's properties were focused on the things I saw in myself, not what an outsider may see in me. It's funny how much different we view ourselves until we get a chance to look into different 'mirrors' of experiences, isn't it?

Hmm, interesting. I will have to research a little more to find out why mine fits me. I too have a phoenix feather core.

If you go back to the Diagon Alley chapter and go to Ollivander's, it will have the wand woods and cores on the side with red feathers beside it as extra info. Easy peasy!

    1) What wand wood, wand core, wand length, and wand property (swishy, bendy, etc) chose you at Ollivander's? Spruce with dragon heartstring, 12 1/2 inches, unyielding.

    2) Do you think your wand is a good fit for you based on what Pottermore tells you about it? Why or why not? I'm not sure. I read the descriptions, and I guess they apply to me... I'm kind of taking this one on faith. The "unyielding" caught me off-guard... I kind-of take that as a referendum on my personality, and I can think of very few times where such an adjective is used in a complimentary sense when talking about a person's personality.

Spruce with Phoenix feather, 10 inches, unyielding

I'm not entirely sure about the Spruce. The core fits me because I feel like it takes me longer to get some things than it does other people. The length is shorter than most and I am definitely a work in progress. The unyielding quality fits because I have a hard time being myself around people I don't know.

I'm so glad there is a thread about wands! This is so cool to see which wands everyone ends up with and to research our wand's meanings, it's fascinating!

    1) What wand wood, wand core, wand length, and wand property (swishy, bendy, etc) chose you at Ollivander's?
Rowan, Unicorn, 10 3/4 inches, Quite Flexible

    2) Do you think your wand is a good fit for you based on what Pottermore tells you about it? Why or why not?
I really think it does! The length made sense to me. I'm told I'm pretty consistent in everything I do and I am very faithful which is represented in the core; also represented in the core is no dark magic is produced from a unicorn core, its very interesting considering I was placed in Slytherin which is known for producing wizards of the dark arts and I have a wand that isn't good with dark magic. I agree with the flexibility because I can be stubborn at times, but when I come around I am pretty good at adapting into new situations, and have a willingness to change (I am now open to trying out my Slytherin side :ohwell: ) I definitely agree with the wood because I am protective of my friends and family and I turn to defense moves before I start attacking. I feel I have a pure heart and am usually pretty clear-headed. Once again, its so funny I am in Slytherin when this wood wouldn't be suitable for any dark witch or wizard (I now know not all Slytherins are dark and evil  ) maybe I am meant to be the odd ball in the sea of emerald and silver in Pottermore LOL

The characteristics of your wand is EXACTLY why I don't think it's that weird you were put in Slytherin. You weren't put there for your 'bad' characteristics, because you don't have many! :)
