I wanted to thank everyone for participating in last weeks challenge. I think it will be a good resource for all of us throughout the challenge when we are struggling with a particular area of weight loss. As I was reviewing the strengths and weeknesses there were a few areas that stood out as things that we can all work on together as a group. We will take the next few weeks to takle these challenges together! One of the major areas of weakness was having a sweet tooth. Many people mentioned that they do a great job of exercising but then manage to undo all of their hard work with caving into some delicious cookies or ice cream etc. The challenge for this week will be to avoid sweets! As I am sure we will discover this will be no easy task, so please place comments below discussing how it is going and what you are doing to overcome the temptation when you are faced with it. You are of course still encouraged to eat fruits of all kinds, the challenge is to stay away from processed sugar in all forms! We will begin the challenge on Thursday morning and go for a full week. I can't think of better motivation than a weigh in to kick this one off, so let's make this a great challenge and make sure to utilize one another for support!

Ever since Easter, I've been craving sugar. I would make fudge or see some Easter candy now on sale & that was it. But today I said enough is enough!! I had no fudge nor sweets. I was afraid to have coffee because the sugar might make me crave more but I did add 1 tsp only. I feel it was a good day. I will not be buying any more sweets even if they're on sale. I'm looking forward to the challenge on Thursday, although I've already started. Need to get this sugar out of my system.

WOW! This is going to be a tough one for me! I LOVE to bake (and eat) sweets! The weekend is going tobe especially hard for me..... BUT I will try my hardest! I will definately avoiding baking...the temptation is way too much for me! And I still have easter chocolate around the house ......... Need to get them out of eyesight and put it away for the kids. I think with proper planning...I will be able to conquer this challenge!! Good luck to everyone!

RATS!!...and I just won a chocolate bar at Safeway with one of those contest cards!!!

This one should be easy for me, I have more of a "salty tooth", but I am definitely here for support of all my sweet tooth friends, and I will personally use this challenge to stay away from chips/pretzels/popcorn this week!!

Wish me luck....I'll need it :) Weekend will definitely be hard!

Great challenge! I have been craving chocolate so bad lately. Also, I got a new Kitchen-aid mixer for Christmas and I am now so into baking. I love to make healthy muffins and granola bars, but I do add some dark chocolate so I am getting some sweets in it ( I will skip that step all this week). I noticed yesterday when logging in my food diary that my sugar amounts are too high, so this challenge comes in perfect time. Good luck everyone!

you're so right on with this challenge! sugar is definitely tripping me up these days--I know it is stress, I know I can stop myself...really, I can! I have already eaten a year's worth of sugary treats just in the last 4 weeks. Enough is enough.

    Hi All!

I'm considering myself lucky with this challenge because I have a salty tooth which probably explains why I'm a terrible baker!!! We have cookies, chocolate, smarties (potti training treats) in the house and I am not even tempted to eat any of it but bring a bag of chips in here and it devored in no time!! I have started a bad habit of having a piece or sometimes pieces of cheese before I go to bed lately so I will stay away from that this week for my challenge.

Thank you Michael for handling the Challenges!! You are doing an amazing job!!

This is a great challenge! Baked goods are my weakness. This week I am trying my best so I do not eat anything processed. I normally do not eat much processed, but I would love to totally eliminate it for my whole family. I have to concentrate on getting rid of all the sweet processed snacks I have around.

Great challenge!!!!!!! Just today a co-worker brought in a plate full of homemade brownies. They looked DELICIOUS!!!!! I resisted the temptation and did not have any. They are all gone now and I feel great about staying away from it. I have a huge sweet tooth but got back on the train last week and have decided not to fall off it again!

So far not so good for me. Man I like my chocolate!! It is funny, so far I make it o.k. until about 2:30pm and then the little devil on my shoulder (he's overweight too:laugh: ) says "What's life without a little chocolate" and I give in. I am going to be more focused the rest of the week.. promise!

Ok, stress level this week is VERY HIGH! I’m getting documents ready for fair hearing. (Legal stuff always bring up the stress) However, I’ve done real well. I’ve only eaten 3 Skinny cows this week and I haven’t blown my eating.

Thank god for this challenge. This past weekend i was challenged with donuts 2 different times, birthday cake, cookies and brownies. Because of this challenge I really worked hard to resist all the temptation. I am proud to say that I did not eat one morsel of any sweet that was around me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last 2 weeks have been horrible due to the traffic chaos in Caracas, I could only workout 2 days each week, on one day it took me 1hr 1/2 to arrive to the gym from my office which is only 4Km of distance. While I'm not being loyal to my workout I think that is the reason I haven't lose more weight  also is not safe to be in any street at night so many things together that don't help at all

This on won't be much of a problem but if you take salt or caffine away from me then we will have a problem lol. I will say that I have been craving a Kit-Kat so hopefully now I will not let myself enjoy that nice chunk of chocolate. Good luck to all of you with a sweet tooth. You can do this!

Alright, I'll fess up. I had tortilla chips last night...BUT I didn't blow my calories AND I weighed my portion and didn't eat out of the bag...or eat the whole bag for that matter :)

OK, I feel better now that you all know!
