Bought a new pair of jogging shoes today! So excited to try them out tomorrow. My big toes were starting to make a hole in my old pair.

Shoes are soooooo much more important than I had ever considered when I first started running. Now I have like 5 different pairs that I rotate.

BTW, out of all these expensive pairs of shoes I have that are good for heel-striking underpronators like myself...the most comfortable pair is still the Gel Strike 2's I bought on Amazon for like 30 bucks. I have a pair of Reebok Zigs that are really comfortable for about 5 miles. I'm not a fan of any Nike shoe I've tried yet. So if you are looking for more, Asics and Zigs are, so far, my recommendations. I have a pair of K-Swiss tubes that I bought on sale, too...but I havent used them yet as I'm waiting until I retire a pair of the Nikes.
  • My shoes are Asics. They have been for about 3 years now. They make my feet happy.

    I hear ya!!

I just wore my first pair of shoes to death within 5mths of starting outdoor training..
I've never realised how important they are til now! My legs/calves have been causing me problems for a good month or so while I was waiting for my new shoes to arrive (Mizuno Wave Inspires - love love love!) .. Broke them in on day one with a 4km run and fitness evaluation no worries at all!! :-)

I was having some problems with Plantar Fasciatis but realized if I change my shoes often, really stretch my calves and use a good stability shoe I will have less problems. Shoes are so important. I have yet to find a Nike that works for me but Asics and Saucony have worked well.

I was running in Salamon? but they are more trail running shoes.
They were fine until i starting doing 12km runs, now they are hurting my left foot up the top, almost like the laces are too tight?
Even on my 7km tempo run the other day i got that pain.

Just got Brooks PureFlow yesterday :)
Did a nice long walk in them and doing a 14km in them for my long run tomorrow.

Hope they are good for my feet, i have my first fun run 8km in 2 weeks for the Mother's Day Classic *eeekkkk*
