Hi All!
I had the hardest time yesterday completing just the 26 minutue work out and I modified every workout. I felt defeated but knew I had to go to day 2 no matter what. I've just completed Day 2 and my knees weren't jello this time! I had enough energy to take my dog for a 1 mile walk afterwards! Most importantly I narrowed it down to only a few things that I had to modify:
Jumping Jacks, Jump Rope, Heel Kicks - I did as many as I could then switched to running in place and then did a few more.
Looks like I have an issue with high impact workouts!! At least I was able to narrow it down this time.
Also the bicycle crunches get me. I think I may be too french to do all that movement at once :P
Either way I substituted instead of stopping and feel so much better.
Just wanted to share in case anyone else felt like death on day 1!

My Day 2 was rough, I won't lie. The bicycle crunches were harder, but could really feel it...I think my form is getting better.

Thank you for sharing! I think that it'll be important for us to hear and share what is happening and how it affects us.
    Let's keep it up!

I just wanted to tell you that once you start doing the work out, you won't be in that much pain. Its worth it to push yourself and you will be so proud that you did!

I was sore crawling into bed last night so I knew this morning was going to be rough, LOL. I'm planning on doing day 2 early afternoon...once my limbs have loosened up a bit.

Right now, my arms are the most sore. And my legs feel like tree logs

Other than that, things are great LOL!

However, I did commit to completing this 30 day shred so I will do Day 2 today. I may have to modify the crap out of it, but I will do it.

(Oh...my 15 year old son was laughing at dinner last night when I was explaining to my husband how challenging the 20 minute work was. So I challeneged him to do it...which he did after dinner. He was moaning getting out of bed this morning, LOL. But he said he's going to try it for all 30 days as well)

From what I have gathered on messege boards and in my own experience, most of the agony goes away around day 5. I am on day 6 and I am having a really hard time with my knees but the muscle pain is no where near as intense as it was the first four days. Commit to getting to day 5 anyway.

Just did Day 2 here and Im more sore than Day 1. But that may have more to do with the cold Ive come down with than the video. Still hard, not at all easy, but Im hoping itll get a little easier......just in time to up it to Level 2 Im sure. lol

Just get up and do Day 2. The pain is actually kind of satisfying today. I'm ready to hammer out day 3 tonight, even if I'm modifying. You've got this. 30 days!!! Just don't give up!

I complete Day 1 last night and I am feeling it today. I sit at a desk all day which I think makes it worse. I feel better if I keep moving. Day 2 tonight.

Keep pushing everyone! I completed day 4 and most of my soreness is gone. I honestly didn't think I'd make it this far. The pain is intense the first 3 or 4 days. I hope I am able to progress to level 2 on day 11, but I'm not so sure. I still find it hard to finish level 1. Of course, I tried to do all of it with very few modifications from the beginning. Let's do this!!! I've never been so excited about a workout program before.

beckysummer burned 229 calories doing 25 minutes of "Circuit training, general"

Is this what everyone else is using for their exercise????

I'm on day 3. I still modify some of the cardio moves. I find the butt kicks put too much strain on my ankles so I sub running in place instead. Today I did the jumping jacks most of the way. I was also able to finally complete the set of bicycle crunches.

Something is always better than nothing. It really does get easier the more you do it.

Ah guys I did day 1 yesterday morning and can tell you how sore my thighs still are. I can't sit down, I can't stand up. I can't walk up or down the stairs. My hubby n kids are laughing at the way I'm walking/hobbling. I've actually just taken 2 ibuprofen so that I can think about tackling day 2 in about an hour. I feel so determined not to miss a day. Please someone tell me that 1. I'll get through it 2. the pain will have eased a bit by tomorrow....please!!!!!

I've been using 20 minutes of Calisthenics, vigorous effort.

    Thoughts?

Pain is good...then you know two things: 1. It's working. 2. You're not dead.
You can do this! You will get through this. Remember, that which does not kill us, gives us ammo to kick it's A** later.
Besides, Pain will subside and the feelings of Accomplishment will dull any pain!

I just finished day 3, I'm RI30 and am alternating between week 1 and week 2. I was doing week 1 again today and did pretty good. Each time I do it is easier, okay so not "easier", it still sucks, but it's suppose to right? Anyway I am a little worried about doing it tomorrow since I have to work tonight and will be doing it when I come home after my 12 hour shift at 5am! See, I have to stay up anyway to get the boy up for school at 6:30 so I try to workout since I am up anyway. God knows it's worse if I try to get up early and do it on only like 5 hours sleep! Plus I have a work meeting tomorrow and will have to be up by 1pm!
Okay people, if I can do this, so can you! Thanks for keeping me motivated to keep at it!!

Haha! I do the Shred in my kitchen with my laptop on the counter which is perfect height to punch her in the face, haha. But really, I love her.
  • Just finished the second day. Bicycle crunches suck!! I work with kids all day, had no issues keeping up with them and running around, but the moment I got home to do the workout, my body tensed up.. lol.. great times-- I was able to push through it as I've been working out anyway regularly, the jello feeling left my body shortly after. about ready to go for a bike ride.. on another not.. bicycle crunches still suck 2nd day in!!! I want them to go away... and the push ups..I have no upper body strength to support myself, I fail those.. hopefully it gets better!! :) Good work everyone! :)

Day 2 done, although, technically...it's day 4 for me since I did it twice last week. So, I am feeling a bit better during cardio. I too have a heck of a time with push ups...even the girl ones. I suck!! But, pushing on and I know I'll see progress if I just stick with it. Overall, I can tell I've improved. I do feel better all day long from working out. So nice!! Go us!

Day 2 of the 30 DS HRM 179 calories... I wasn't so bad today I was able to control my breathing. Circuit 1 I always have to modify the push ups.

Major NSV today!! I had some pretty substantial dental work done today, early afternoon, so I hadn't worked out yet. When I got home I was drained and a little sore, but I still did the Shred. Any time in the past, going to the dentist would have definitely been reason enough for me to take off the day from exercising!

So excited to see changes that aren't just "weight" related, but rather ones that point to a positive life change!!

    Thanks for the support everyone!
