Hello Everyone! Last week was a productive one! Our group is growing!

Congrats to the following who met the goal: 200 minutes of exercise last week!

Tammy (fatpal1)

Good job! Now it is a new week and time to get that scale movin! This week's goal is to log 10 miles of exercise. You can get your 10miles walking/running/jogging/swimming. (bike riding doesn't count sorry) If 10 miles is too much or if you are just starting out try for 5 miles. Those of you who only do classes (zumba or other aerobics) can shoot for 225minutes this week!

We are awesome -- we can do this! Losing weight is a lot more manageable when we cheer each other on and when we eat a sensible diet and move our bodies. It doesn't have to be torture!
Have an Awesome Monday! : )

ACK!!! I am STRUGGLING! It is almost my TOM and I am having such a bad day. I want to eat everything in sight. Ugh. I had a doctor's appointment earlier and his scale is WAY higher than mine at home by like 4lbs. : ( Also on my chart I see I am described as "morbidly obese". Yep I know that's not the first time I've heard that but damn, it stings every time. Sorry guys I will take my woes and head to bed early tonight. Tomorrow's a new day! : )

Right here on this thread. You can check in and say how many minutes or miles you have done until you hit the goal! It helps you remember how close you are and how much time there is left. Glad to see you are with us! : )

    Welcome to the group.
Mel does a great job keeping us on track.

Mel don't give up on yourself. You are heading in the right direction.

It was a tough workout today. Has anyone tried trx? It is where 2 straps are suspended from the ceiling and you use your own body weight to complete exercises. I kept thinking that the bolt was going to come out of the ceiling and I would land on my a... So I am still working on minutes this week. So farhaven up to160 minutes this week.

I use a fitbit and climb stairs while I'm at work. (using a bathroom on a different floor, jumping jacks or desk push ups on breaks, that kind of thing. So, I'm not doing continuous exercise. (and I do some wii dancing sometimes and walk the dogs, pace when I'm on the phone at home...cubicle at work too small for pacing...Well, that and I'm on a video screen...UGH.) So, can I just log miles and steps and flights of stairs? (as reported on my fitbit?)

OH...DUH...*miles* on my fitbit, miles for the challenge...but flights of stairs feel so much more impressive!!!
    Monday May 7th: 1.51 miles, 3588 steps, 13 flights
    Tuesday May 8th: 2.11 miles, 5021 steps, 13 flights
    Wednesday May 9th:
    Thursday May 10th:
    Friday May 11th:
    Saturday May 12th:
    Sunday May 13th:
    (right?)

^^^ Thanks so much Sarita. I have just felt so bummed so far this week. I need to get my booty to the gym it will definitely help me feel better.

I have never even heard of trx it sounds kind of amazing -- hard though! Keep up the great work and thanks so much for the encouragement. Geeze I have to figure out how to beat PMS it's usually not this bad.

Someone called me a leader in here! That's a little funny, I just want to have a place to be around people who understand how serious this struggle is and how intimidating losing such a large amount of weight can seem. You guys are the best!

It is hard to keep going all the time. It is why this group is so helpful. Just keep checking in even when you don't feel like it. i think the support and motivation will help you through the rough patches. Everyone's struggles and successes can help inspire as well as motivate!

Wow, what a weekend. My niece graduated with her doctorate this weekend in PT. She is also my Godchild. I was so proud of her. That being said, I had to drive 3 hours to CT for the graduation. I would rather drive 6 hours north to Maine than 3 hours to CT. It is a white knuckle drive. I was finishing up my workout challenge on Saturday morning and I woke up thinking that I was going to blow it off since I had to get ready to leave. But I as I read everyone's blog from the night before I realized I needed to stay on track and keep my commitment to my friend and show up for our training session. I managed to fulfill this week's challenge by completing 240 minutes of exercise this week!

So thank you everyone for helping stay the course.
