Hi
My name is Dalis, I'm so excited that I've found this group. I have more than 100 lbs to lose and am happy there's a support group here. Probably like most of you here I have been trying to lose weight for years. I have tried prescription diet pills, the hcg diet, boot camp 6 week program twice, and LA weight loss (before they closed all of their stores), and several other dumb diets. My goal had always been to reach my ideal weight when I turned 30, so when I turned 30 last summer I cried because I hadn't. I am more determined now than ever to prove to myself that I can do this!
I am a mother of 2 children, a 5 year old boy, and a 1 year old girl. I am returning to school in the fall, and need tips on how to stay focused with a busy schedule.
I am serious about losing weight and have heard how helpful it is to have a support group. I don't know many people who need to lose 100+ lbs and therefore don't have anyone who understands what I am going through. My husband is very healthy and trim. He loves biking, swimming, running, hiking, basketball, weight lifting, and pretty much exercise in general. He's supportive, but doesn't quite understand the emotions I go through. LOL...I figure I'd spare him. He needs a break, poor guy.
So far I've lost 10 pounds since I started last month. I feel good about this and am working toward my next 10 pound goal.

Welcome! I am sure you will do great! I typically take it 1 day at a time, 1 lb at a time. I have mini goals, long range goals and a final goal weight but I try not to focus. The number between my final goal weight and current weight it too high! LOL
I am like you. Tried EVERYTHING. I have no one to blame but myself. I would start great and then be a slacker. I am not sure what has changed in my thinking but this time appears to be different!
I just started the Jillian Michael's 30 day shed. Last night was my first night. I am sore today BUT I feel GREAT!
Keep your head up and we can do this!!!! We WILL succeed0 -
I would love to have friends that understand the mountain I am in the process of climbing in this adventure of losing vast amounts of weight. I actually have over 200 pounds to lose and started this new lifestyle on February 25,2012. Thus far I have left 29.2 pounds behind me and am looking forward to getting some more baggage off of my body. Right now I am limited on the amount of activity the doctors will let me participate in due to blood clots in my lungs and my left leg. I am having breathing issues but I am still plowing forward. I do whatever I can and follow the doctors orders. I can't wait until I can get out and go for a long, long walk again. Right now I am limited to walking in my house and playing bowling on wii. It helps that he is letting me do that amount. I am on a heart healthy, low sodium diet and am drinking tons of water. If anyone else is interested in a new friend just add me. Good luck on your weight loss adventure. Just take it a day or even an hour at a time.0

Great day for new people. HI. My name is Michelle (MJ) and I need to lose 120 pounds more. (To date I have lost 15.5 in about 73 or 74 days) I leanred ABOUT mfp fall of 2010...but didn't learn how to really USE mfp until 73/74 days ago. I have lost that 15.5 pounds in the time since discovering what it was really all about.
I am looking for community. I am looking for accountability. I am looking for ideas. Support and encouragement would be great, too.
Changes I have made so far?
-Drinking plenty of water every day.
-logging EVERYTHING even on weekends (two seperate goals there)
-making healthier choices
-increasing my movement
-eating less more frequently
-not eating before bed (or not eating MUCH before bed)
I'm not into DIET. I'm into lifestyle changes/choices that are going to lead to permanent health. The scale SHOULD go down based on those choices, but I also look at things like measurements, how my clothes fit, and most importantly HOW I FEEL.
I am a stress eater...so finding something to replace eating when I'm nervous or upset is hard. My ex is stirring some drama and so far, I'm not letting it get to me. (eating wise...)
Looking forward to "meeting" all of you.0 -
Welcome everyone!
Sounds like we are all on the same road in life and making great lifestyle changes!
Good luck everyone!0 -
Hello Everyone! Nice to meet all of the new people! Looking forward to getting to know you better. My name is Melissa and I tend to try and keep the board moving. I am pretty active on the website but I think 100l+ pounds is an entirely different ballgame so I think it is important we have each other. I have lost 22lbs but I have about 140lbs to go (which seems like a crazy lot of weight). I am having a hard time right now but I am continuing to plug along. It's too soon for a plateau so I am probably in need of tightening up my diet or spending a couple of extra days in the gym. Hope you all can make it into the challenge strain of this board! : )0

Hi, my name is Debbie. I joined MFP in mid March and have lost 21 pounds toward my 140 pound goal. I've posted on a few message boards for 100+ but haven't checked for groups until today. I was thrilled to find this one!
I've struggled with my weight since I was about 12. I slimmed down in high school, only to see the weight (and much more) creep back on through college and the subsequent years at a sedentary job. I've tried every diet over the years- medically supervised fasting, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Atkins, etc. This time it's different. This time it's not a diet, it's a permanent lifestyle change. I'm making healthier food choices, and ramping up the exercise level. I'm struggling on the exercise end as I'm still recouperating from an achilles tendon injury.
I absolutely love MFP. I just wish I'd found it a lot sooner! The community support here is amazing. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you & cheering you along our weight loss journey.0 -
Hello and welcome, My name is Tammy (fatpal1) I have lost 77 pounds since 6-1-11, and to be honest it really just amazes me I have always been big( cough cough fat), never been able to lose, So I am proof that it can and will happen for anybody that puts forth the time and effort. I have an awesome hubby that adored me at over 350, and two beautiful daughters. Please add me as a friend, I will encourage and support you in this journey. I have a very positive attitude and a quirky (saracastic) sense of humor.0
