Welcome!
I'm Theresa and I'm nine weeks post-op for open RNY. I have gradually been adding in foods, it's kind of trial and error as to what will work and what won't. I use to crave sweet things, but since surgery, I actually crave protein. I try to get in as much exercise as I can, I have lower back problems. I've lost 67.9 lbs so far overall and since surgery I've lost 37.9 lbs.0 -
Welcome!! I had RNY in 2008. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm so thankful to have my life back again.0

It isn't a miracle cure for my back problems, but right after surgery, my back felt really good. I have some of the pain back, but it is no where near what it was before surgery. I was unable to walk without a cane and had constant pain, but now I am able to walk and usually alleviate the pain with a couple of Tylenol.
I think part of my pain is, that as I am losing the weight, it is creating more excess skin, which in my case actually pulls my lower stomach downwards. For the time being I am learning how to live with it, but everyone's pain is totally different.
Remember that once you have your surgery, exercise is the key, and that means any kind of movement will help.0 -
