Ok guys, I am going to attempt to quit smoking AGAIN! It's like the 7th time now...anyways I am going to need your support more than ever so I don't over eat and keep on track with my exercising, walking and such. I am not quitting cold turkey, going to take it slow. Don't need to end up in prison for murder...:explode: LOL

Have you tried reading Allen Carr's The EasyWay to Quit Smoking? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. I smoked for 30+ years, and after reading his book, finished the pack I was smoking back in January and haven't smoked since. It was relatively easy, especially after the first few days of nicotine withdrawal. I found that exercising when I thought about smoking or when I started to feel stressed or anxious really helped. So did drinking water when a craving hit.
Anyway, good luck - you CAN do it, and it will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself :flowerforyou:0 -
I actually did just buy Allen Carr's book and downloaded it on my Nook reader so that way I will have better access to it then online or in paperback.0

I used the patch for the first month and that helped a lot. I also started the C25K running program since I knew that I'd be able to notice a difference in my respitory function pretty quick...and that helped keep me motivated.
Also, if you have a smartphone, download QuitNow...free ap that tracks your heath milestones as well as money saved and other interesting stats.

9 weeks for me have still managed to lose a few pounds as well mainly down to the extra excersize i am doing to fight the cravings. i seen an almost imediate result while using my heart rate monitor my resting heart rate dropped within a week from 60 to 53,,,, Still using the patches and gum but the cravings are becoming slightly less frequent. Go for it & good luck0
