Hello Everyone! Last week was a productive one! Our group is growing!

Congrats to the following who met the goal: 230 minutes of exercise OR 10 miles of walking/running/jogging last week! The list is growing again! Thanks for participating!

Debbie
Sarita (sarita66)
Tammy (fatpal1)
Melissa (lissa0040)

Great job everyone! Now it is a new week and time to get that scale movin! This week's goal is to log 12 miles of exercise. You can get your 12miles walking/running/jogging/swimming. (bike riding doesn't count sorry) If 10 miles is too much or if you are just starting out try for 6 miles. Those of you who only do classes (zumba or other aerobics) can shoot for 240minutes this week! If you are new and just starting out you can aim for 120minutes.

EXTRA CREDIT: Drinking your 8 glasses of water every day this week!

We are awesome -- we can do this! Losing weight is a lot more manageable when we cheer each other on and when we eat a sensible diet and move our bodies. It doesn't have to be torture!
Have an Awesome Week! : )

If you have been coming into our board but have not yet interacted with us, I invite you to join in! : )

Yay so excited to start these challenges, I really think these goals will help me succeed. I am going to shoot for the 6 miles (I walk with a cane at the moment). But can't wait to do the bigger feats!! Thanks for making these challenges.

I have been struggling for the past 2 weeks, and I'm ready to get this started up again! I will do all I can to meet this weeks challenge. I love the challenges because they give me an attainable immediate goal that I feel I can accomplish. Thanks for these!

    Hi Mel good job!
Yes, another grueling session with the trainer, but add 60 minutes to this week.

I had to buy some summer clothes and glad to be able to buy one dress size smaller!
    Yeah to the small victories.

I have struggled too over the past few months not losing as much as I had hoped. I have to just keep telling myself that I have goals and that quitting won't ever help me accomplish them. I think to myself that if I stop making an effort I will only gain back everything I've lost and possibly more-- which has happened more than once in the past. It is so nice to have everyone on here. It's funny because it's not just the people who are kickin' butt that I find helpful but to see others struggling with the same issues I do helps me more than I could have imagined. Things like the scale not moving after a week or two of making a genuine effort or not staying organized and making bad food choices in a pinch. This site has helped me realize that it isn't always going to be easy but at least there are others here fighting right along side me working toward similar goals.

I am glad the challenges are helping others because it really helps me to have the accountability and goal to aim for!

Sarita! One size smaller is more than a small victory! I don't know about you but I have worn the same old clothes forever so losing one size means a lot. Great job! What kind of exercises do you do with your trainer?

Tammy! Nice start to the week and 12 glasses of water a day! Dang girl I'd float away.... lol You rock!

Welcome to the board! Good luck on this week's challenge! If you are comfortable let us know your real name--I am Melissa!

Thanks Mel! I know exactly what you mean. This group is really a motivator and not just with the challenges which are really keeping me honest. I mean the support from everyone.

Our trainer is always changing things up. We use the bands, trx, weight machines, kettle balls and free weights. We usually start with an ab work on the mat with a 12 pounds ball to hold.

I was determined to have a significant weight loss since the scale has not really been moving. Today I got up and went to the gym at 6:00 am. This doesn't sound so bad but for me doing anything in the morning before work other than eating my fiber one multi-grain English muffin with an egg is quite extraordinary. Anyway, I walked 27 minutes on the treadmill. I was looking at the class schedule and saw that there was a Zumba class tonight so I thought I should try it. After work, I did some errands, ate supper and off to the gym again, twice in one day. Well, I arrive an hour early because they changed the time due to a new instructor. Of course the woman at the desk (she was really funny) said don't leave! Give me your keys and go warm up! I told her that i was already here this morning and she that's great stay anyway! So I did some of the weight machines and I stayed for the whole hour of Zumba with these skinny mini types who knew what they were doing. I felt like a rhino in a field of giseles lol! I did make through the hour.

So to make a long story. I completed 187 minutes in one day and now I write to you from bed after taking 2 Advil and an ice pack!

Thank you all for reading my rant!

    Keep up the good work!

Hi everyone! I am new here and fairly new to MFP although my profile says otherwise. I joined and then really didn't use the site until this week so I am trying to get use to it. I love your challenges and can't wait to see what this week's will be. I would love to have some new friends.

    Welcome Debi!

Well I had to literally force myself to the gym earlier. My total for the week is 385 minutes and 18 miles.

I am thinking that I will give everyone the extra day before posting results since Monday is a holiday. Get your numbers in for the leader board and the next challenge will be posted on Tuesday! Hope everyone is having an awesome day!

Great job Sarita way to finish the week out strong!!! That story about getting to the gym early and staying that whole time was hilarious! What a good sport I probably would have figured out a way to get my keys back lol.
