Hey guys, the title pretty much says it all. I'm still working at getting my head around trying low carb eating and I'm wondering if people can help me out. I'm on 1600 cals 60g carbs, 100 protein and 107 fat. I seem to be going over on the protein though. Is this bad? Can people look at my diary and tell me if I've got a general idea? I'm counting net carbs so try to keep my fibre lovely and high.

I only looked through the past week, but the trend looks like to me, you're high on protein because you're choosing very lean sources of protein - chicken, tuna, other lean meats almost every day, plus low-fat dressings, cheeses & other dairy (no need! they replace the fats with carbs!). If you have fattier meats, you'll get more fat and less protein for the same serving size. The trend was also low on your fats, besides high on protein. More fats will help make you feel more satiated, so you won't need as much protein, I would think.

I can't comment on if this is good or bad, though, without knowing your activity level.

I find skimping on the fat leads to a host of problems... But if it is working for you, then go for it. Fat helps me lose weight better I find.

Thanks ladies :) Do I need to stick to a certain number of calories? Is there any that will work best? I'm a mum of a 15 month old, work 2 10 hour days a week in a pound and log all the exercise i do with a HRM. The past week has been dismal in working out.
