SUN: 5.23 run - my first 5miles under 1hr... 59:49 I really haven't been giving myself enough credit. Most of my runs I have made myself stop for walk breaks. Tonight I ran as long as I could before first walk break.. didn't take one until mile 2.49. hmm..

WED: 1.2mi (guesstimate) Ran Sprints 10x100 run, 10x100 walk, 1 full lap round track walk to cool down (ran AGAINST THE WIND tonight. very hot wind)

Got new shoes - more minimalist, and got my best time for 4 miles ever: 42:23. Was trying to set a really easy pace, since I had new shoes, and I have a pulled muscle in my back, but ran at least :40 per mile faster than normal. And it was effortless.... I am hoping it is the shoes (Saucony Mirage)!
But they'll get there. It takes time.
Honestly, I haven't had a problem. I have run over 13 miles this week in them. But they are not 0 mm drop - they are around 4mm I think, so not as big a difference. My legs (knee) actually feel a little better.0 -

After my surprisingly fast pace on Tuesday (10:19 per mile), I was back to 11:13 per mile on Thursday, and then 12:25 per mile for my long run (some walking up hills in there!) on Saturday. So maybe that fast pace on Tuesday was more due to the time of day (late morning instead of early morning), which meant I had eaten more before running. Also, I had taken 4 days off, so maybe I was just extra fresh! Still loving the shoes, though!0 -

Nice job!! When I first finished C25K, I felt like a failure if I walked at all. But after reading about the Galloway method, I realized it just doesn't matter. While I don't take regular walk breaks, I do take them if I need them (especially on hills!) - if my heart rate just gets too high, or my knee starts to hurt, etc.0 -
